Klingons continue to get the back burner treatment.
Let us Hope that Romulans never get added to the game, nobody should have to go through the same TRIBBLE Klingon Players have gone through.
damn, thats a shame... it seems soo easy to push Fed Ships into the Game and yet so very hard to get a few Klingons ships in... its a shame the Feds are constantly on the Highest Priority as always
Cryptic will want to make damn sure they learn from their mistakes with the Klingons, or there will be hell to pay if they mess up with the Romulans...
Well lets see... do we want incomplete ships or just to wait another week? Hmm... that's a toughie :P
I hope we get to have MORE Orion/Nausicaan/Gorn ships as the game goes along ^_^ I've fought the NPC versions of their craft so often I've started to like them
To me it doesn't matter that Feddies get new ships all the time. It just gives me a bit more variety to fight, and many many many many many dead feddies later, I've come to the conclusion that I love seeing all their explosions. The subsequent "klingons are OP!" whine complements the explosions nicely.
Fed tears always taste great; I love unfathomable sadness in the morning, noon, and night.
everything in this game gets delayed. Everything cryptic releases in regards to STO gets delays.
I know there are a lot of whiners, hell I'm one of them.
If some stuff got delayed I would be more patient.
100% of stuff gets delayed.
before I was an STO player I was a hardcore WoW player and all my RL friends thought WoW was stupid.
I convinced 5 of my non MMO playing friends to start playing STO on the basis that it was an MMO based on Star Trek.
One of those guys even bought a lifetime subscription. We joined a few days after it was released.
Whats amazing is that now that my friends see the delays and all the other garbage that goes on these people who used to hate WoW are now asking me to give up STO and go back to WoW and bring them with me.
It says a lot that someone who used to laugh me out of the room when i suggested they play WoW is now asking me to leave STO and go back to it.
damn, thats a shame... it seems soo easy to push Fed Ships into the Game and yet so very hard to get a few Klingons ships in... its a shame the Feds are constantly on the Highest Priority as always
Right, because the Galaxy-x never was delayed or released with mad bugs, and the Nebula was never delayed for a month or two. It's only the Klingon ships
If they were released on time with bugs or looking anything less than awesome, there would be the same complaints by the same people. It's Always lose/lose with some folks. But what can ya do?
Klingon Empire B'rel Bird-of-Prey Retrofit
Birds-of-Prey are the workhorses of the Empire, filling roles as scout ships, raiders or combat vessels. This retrofit of the famed B'rel Bird-of-Prey combines the small size and maneuverability of the B'rel with the most advanced weaponry available to the Empire. The B'rel Bird-of-Prey Retrofit has six weapon slots (4 fore, 2 aft), seats for four Bridge Officers (2 Lieutenant Universal, 1 Lieutenant Commander Universal and 1 Commander Universal) and space for eight console modifications (3 Tactical, 3 Engineering, 2 Science). It carries 30 crew and has an Enhanced Battle Cloak that will allow the ship to fire mines and torpedo weapons and use most Bridge Officer and Captain abilities while cloaked.
Klingon Empire Varanus Fleet Support Vessel
This Gorn Hegemony design has been adapted for use by the Klingon Defense Force. These vessels do not have the firepower of Klingon starships, but their advanced technology makes them ideal for use by captains who want to support their allies in battle. The Varanus Fleet Support Vessel has six weapon slots (3 fore, 3 aft), seats for five Bridge Officers (Lieutenant Tactical, Ensign Engineering, Lieutenant Engineering, Lieutenant Commander Science and Commander Science) and space for eight console modifications (2 Tactical, 2 Engineering, 4 Science). It carries a crew of 750, has integral subsystem targeting and can launch a Repair Platformthat will deploy drones to assist it or allied ships.
Klingon Empire Marauder Patrol Cruiser
The Orion Syndicate has made the design of their famed Marauder Patrol Cruiser available to the Klingon Defense Force. Marauders are made for quick raids, but have the strength to last through a pitched battle. The Marauder Patrol Cruiser has eight weapon slots (4 fore, 4 aft), seats for five Bridge Officers (Lieutenant Tactical, Lieutenant Commander Engineering, Commander Engineering, Ensign Science and Lieutenant Science) and space for eight console modifications (2 Tactical, 4 Engineering, 2 Science). It carries 800 crew members. The Syndicate takes great care to protect Marauders, so when one of these vessels falls below 25 percent of its maximum hull strength a wing of Orion Interceptor Fighters will come to assist it. These fighters will drop mines, and then move to disable subsystems and capture crew from enemy ships, giving the Marauder cover for a safe escape.
What about the Nausicaan ship? Interesting powers, but it is a little depressing that the Marauder Patrol Cruiser's special ability is activated based on hull strength rather than being activated when you want.
Most bridge officer and captain abilities while cloaked... I can see my science flavoured BoP character never having to come out of cloak depending on what is included in 'most abilities' after all he's loaded up with torps already anyway and only have an energy weapon or two to help in getting shields down.

Holy Sh... Wow! That is all pretty sweet. I still want to see some Gorn, Orion, and Nausican ships at lower tiers, but these all sound pretty awesome. I can't wait to get my Gorn ship.
And seriously, if these are all just C-Store ships, please make some Tier 3 versions without the special abilities. We will rarely see them if they are C-store I think.

"Everything mentioned is bound to change due to balancing upon testing"
Having said this, yes, I also started to have wet dreams.

Meh....I'd want to see the sci ability before I do anything...the other two don't sound all that interesting.....
Speaking of testing...you said they would be out for testing this week since they are releasing next week.. Is this still the case or are we pushing the release of these ships back again???????? I would like to see them out on-time (if there ever was such a thing with these ships...) without having to move them back again.... but I don't think I will hold my breath......

Maybe can it be called K'Vort Bird of Prey, instead?

First off, I think the B'Rel Refit should be given a name like,"Special Warfare Raider".
Second, 4 weapon slots? I could believe it if it was a K'Vort, but the B'Rel's a small ship and only able to carry the dual wing cannons and the forward torpedo launcher. And it having the same arsenal than the Hegh'ta. So it seems cannon breaking.
Also I worry about people loading up on Torpedos for all 4 launchers and snipering from the safety of combat. With High Yield 3, you can effectively pump out 6 torpedoes. Or people swooping in to drop off a Tricobalt Mine to purposely disable a player with the 10 second stun.

Basically the DSSV with an ability with an additional self repair ability. Curious how much of a heal it's going to do?

This setup is more reasonable, more akin to the Star Cruiser. But a Star Cruiser with Fighters. I'll honestly think this diabiling subysystems could end up troublesome in PvP, where people would purposely get wounded just to trigger this ability.
Can you tell us if there will be an alternate ship costume for the B'rel retrofit, like the one we just got (Tor'Kaht) that we just got for the Vor'cha?
Please say yes!
Oh, and can't wait to see these in action! This is definitely going to spice up the KDF!
Hmmm most BOFF skills you say... could make the refit bop the better sci ship. lol
A power that activates when your hull is at 25% really... sounds like the old fleet support. I will hold judgment of course till we tribble it up and taker for a spin.
Thanks for getting us some new toys devs... it is appreciated. (Mostly likely by my pocketbook as well)
After the Nebula and Excelsior arguements over BO slots, I feel this one is going to be a doozy.
LT Commander Engineering with LT Commander Science and Commander Science? On top fo that integral targeting of Science Ships and Repair Drones?
This is already screaming "overpowered".

five Bridge Officers (Lieutenant Tactical, Ensign Engineering, Lieutenant Engineering, Lieutenant Commander Science and Commander Science)
On the cruiser... ohhmm ya I agree the star cruiser is OP. lol
I would hold your judgment you have no idea how that ship pays for those fighters...
Also who the hell is going to try and get damaged to 25% on purpose... if they set it to 50% or something perhaps... as is I bet plenty of people will be hoping the team healer is silly and tries to take 3/4 damage.
I know you play mostly fed really... relax more diversified klink teams will be very good for fed pugs. And it should go along way to evening out fleet play.

It was, they got delayed by a week.
