Yap there is little PvE. You get some story missions ad the weekly's. Otherwise TRIBBLE you said it, it's GRIND. And best way to grind is where most skill points are :P

Yes, but I think the OP is wondering WHERE are the most SP obtained from? And I would like to know too.

Hard to tell. Actually if you ask me, it's mix of explore missions + empire defenses. Some empire defenses are bugged (or is that intentional) which gives nice skill points. While if you ask me ... explore missions are best when it comes Skill points / time. But I tried to play as much PvP as possible. Grind is boring and makes me sick. My five cents.

PS: IMHO Lt Cmd and Cmd tiers are worst of all ... it feels like it taking ages.

Lvl'ed two klink toons not too long ago. Clusters give most skillpoints most of the time (you should notice, that each solved mission grants skill points, additionally to the reward for the quest), though escpecially when you get access to a new empire defense, this is what you want to do. Especially the bugged (or not, idk) ones where you just have to kill the waves once are quite allright. The whole thing gets a little annoying everytime you're close to your next rank, but mostly at 9 or 10 there is said new defense mission, which will grant you about 1.5 lvl or something like that. It's not the same with every rank, so don't nail me down on that.
A quite good way is to just switch between both missions, in case you have c/d on one or if you just can't see it any longer ^^

I found it quite easy to lvl my klinks, was just like feds with less travelling and more killing. The story missions on fed side are nice and all but they are mostly just wasting your time anyway. So get into that cluster and have fun :P

The first mission for each "Nebula" (aka empire defense) will grant almost a full level in xp right of the bat. From there the "Cluster" (aka Explore 3 missions) will grant about 1/3 to 1/4 of a level depending on your level and how close you are to the next one. Once you hit lvl 10 the new weeklies and the daylies in the defari sector are greay ways to get more xp.

Welcome to the KDF side...we aint jokin' about it being bare are we?...lol
Another fed to see the light...lol
Anyway, grind your nebula and that will provide XP, a steady stream of XP...I did this mostly and a few empire defences....a FEW of them...and I wound up with leveling my 2nd KDF toon to LTG in 8 days doing nothign but leveling in the evening and weekend.

After 3 LG's I have found the quickest way to level would be running all the way up to CAP in a BoP or Raptor. Stay away from Cruisers. For ground i would suggest running the 3 Engineers with the Phaser turret build and 1 Science healer. then go grind those Cluster missions and in the cool down time do your Klingon LCM missions, weekly's and Daily's and throw in some pvps. Unfortunately its the same process no matter what you do as a klingon... But to get through it fast depends your setup and build. Spec for terrible damage...

The cruiser at Commander lvl is ok, but otherwise that is sage advice. The commander cruiser, the one that looks like the old D7...that one has some great firepower.

These would be the content missions geared for your level, or rank.

Used to be easy to lvl a Klingon char back around launch when PvP was rampant. Think I lvled my Orion in about 3 or 4 days to BG5... nowadays tho... I pity the new KDF players that have to lvl.

As mentioned by others the best way to do it is the exploration missions. With the new Featured Episode missions things are getting better.

Yes, better, but not by much...at most they have shaved about 3/4 of a day off the amount of time to lvl a new toon....
