Ok, so I think I speak for all of us when I say "Finally!". I'm extremely happy that we at long last have ship interiors. I'm not exactly sure how long, but we have them. Now I have an idea. It's well-know that Cryptic is incredible at customization. Just look at most of the features in the game. Well to expand on such, perhaps we could have different kinds of rooms other than the basic crew deck and Engineering deck. Perhaps interchangeable engineering rooms, and perhaps on a more gameplay related idea, interchangeable cores with different effects on the performance of the ship. That, and it would be nice if perhaps in the captain's quarters, we could change between already owned uniforms. Also, if we could use the replicators in the lounge/mess hall to purchase foods that'd be cool. On a final idea, maybe major canon ships should get a full interior deck layout. Like with ganways and all.
On that note, we are in luck. Stahl has mentioned UGC being integrated with Ship Interiors, as well as Fleet Starbases down the road. The amount of options we'll be given remains a mystery, however.
I'll promptly admit that I haven't read any of the interviews. So I didn't know that the UGC would involve Interiors. Nice.
Any other ideas you'd like to see before they give us UGC though? Say, more VOY-sized corridors?
No more ideas for interiors? Or are we simply going to let our own imaginations run wild with the Foundry?
This is the first task I intend to take on when the foundry is released. I love the interior spaces on my ship, but (no offense to the Cryptic designers) I personally don't care for the default layouts. I'm actually looking forward to firing up the editor and spending several hours just figuring out HOW it works, and trying to arrange the rooms to my liking, using the corridor modules and layout I prefer.
I'm also slightly hopeful that we'll be able to station a few NPC's in our ship. I know that's probably a long shot.. but I like the idea of creating a few GNDN NPC's that stand around in the kitchen, sickbay, etc. Maybe add a few wounded people to the sickbay beds.. a couple of people arguing in the lounge.. a bartender, some cooks, maybe one guy whose entire job it is to stand by various doorways and salute when I walk by. I'd also like to add some "generic rooms" to my ship's interior, for "other people's quarters".
But without knowing what will specifically be possible, there's not much point in getting my hopes up. I'll be happy to just get all the rooms on one level. the turbolift is gorgeous, but for running around, I'd rather just have doors.
I'd like the npc behind the bar in the messhall to wear a chef's cooking hat
and ofcourse dishes that go terribly wrong so a lot of smoke and an occasional fire
:P
Absolutely. Heck, even have a fire suppresion team run down and put it out. And an even more occasional crewmember who gets sick from the food and runs to sickbay.

Any more ideas? How about 3-D chess in the lounge? And perhaps a cook, and, umm, Dsthal, where on earth is my CMO??
