The costume itself is GORGEOUS. I absolutely love the way it looks BUT I do have some issues w/ the execution behind the introduction of this.
Some 1 told me that the costume includes ALL of 7/9's implants, which is a lil' dumb IMO because now anyone can make a female liberated Borg, lifer or not (at least in looks).
What's even more mind boggling to me is that IF you are a lifer and have a liberated Borg you have to buy this costume in order to get the hand and jaw implants, instead of having them be parts in the tailor by default. I mean, after all, they are Borg implants so why can't your liberated Borg use them by default?
For that matter why are the jaw and hand implants restricted to females only. 7/9's hand implant was originally seen on a MALE drone in first contact, the Borg seem to have a strict unisex code where implants are concerned. Why are these female only?
IF there is a plan to include them in the tailor, why were they not given to the liberated Borg FIRST? Why give Borg parts to the general public BEFORE the lifer's got a chance to use them?
Personally, I like how I can add borg implants to my crew members since my Borg Captain is trying to create an enlightened Borg Collective. Give my crew members the option to have Borg Implants that improve their visual acuity and various other enhancements and they might be willing to accept more intrusive implants like neural transceivers which connect them to my enlightened hive mind. My Captain's Collective is all about free will and with the 7 of 9 implants, a few of my captain's crew members have decided to take the first step to become part of my Captain's Collective.
Wait are you saying that if you buy the costume you still need to buy the jaw implants too. If that the case am not buying it. Everything about this game is buying that c-stone you never get thing which are meant to come for free.

This is all part of the set when we buy it. The facial customization permits the exact implants which remained on 7 of 9. And only those. Just like the C-store picture displays. The ocular implant - which sets upon the left brow (only). And the small, star-like implant that sets on the right cheek - in front of the right ear (only). And the hand piece on the left hand (only). I noted the implants become available in both the Uniform and Off-Duty slots. But the jumpsuit itself is Uniform slot only.
Bear in mind that those of us with Liberated Borg available to both Fed and Klingon Captains have a wider variety of implants to choose from. Plus unique racial traits. And aren't limited by gender. But we don't have the star-like implant or the hand piece at all. We can buy this set if we want them badly enough, I suppose. But the hand piece would only be available to female's on the Fed side.

And there in lies my issue. If we (who have a liberated Borg) want these implants, we need to pay extra to get them AND they would only work for female fed toons. It just makes no sense to me that Borg implants were not available to Borg captains, for free, FIRST. That's like putting new Klingon foreheads or Caitian tails up in the c-store for the alien gen before giving them to the species that should have rightfully had them in the first place.
i actually agree... i thought the suit itself was the product. i assumed the implants were an addition to the game itself.. this needs to be fixed/happen...
The ocular implant, neck star, and hand implant are all part of the Seven of Nine package. I haven't seen any other borg that uses those implants. Therefore, it is not surprising that the neck star and hand implant are available through only the Seven of Nine package. Having such the suit is not enough.

The poll that asked about this costume specifically said "7 of 9 jumpsuit ". At no moment did I think that every Fed female in game would be able to look like a liberated Borg. Being able to make a character that looks like a liberated Borg was a lifer's only perk. Even w/ all that said I don't have much of an issue w/ the costume including the implants.
What I have an issue w/ is that they are obviously Borg implants that the liberated Borg DIDN'T get first and rightfully should have. What I have an issue w/ is that if I want to use these implants on my liberated Borg I have to buy this costume and be a Fed female.
As for her hand implant watch "First contact". The first time that hand implant was seen was on the male drone that Picard kills in the holodeck.
What I can't understand is why aren't all the color options open? How difficult would it have been to allow us to choose from the full range of colors. I hope you will consider this and add the full pallette. I guess it's nice to have but considering it had to be bought with a credit card, they could have at least provided all the standard colors and the ability to mix and match whatever we choose.
It would be nice if you could turn off the metallic-like affect and have it look more like normal cloth, so I could use the top with normal pants to look like my Boff is wearing a DS9 uniform sans the dark-gray jacket.
I was contemplating buying the costume just for the hand implants but seeing how restricted they are i won't waste my money with the purchase now.
I was the opposite. I was going to buy the suit just for the suit but once I realized that it includes Borg implants too I decided against it.
As a person who bought my lifetine sub during OPEN BETA I was extremely let down to see that not only are Borg implants being made available to anyone now, BUT that they are only available to Fed females IF you are willing to pay extra.
These implants SHOULD have been given to EVERY lifer w/ a Borg captain (male, female,Klingon,Fed) for FREE, before it ever hit the C-Store. Heck, even the Borg BOFF should have gotten these implants FIRST.
As miffed as I am that anyone can now make a fed female look like a Drone, I would have had 0 issues w/ non lifers being able to make their females look like Borg IF I had been able to use these implants on my Borg FIRST.
Maybe it's just me, but it simply seems to be common sense that Borg parts should be Given to Borg players first.
ok, fine, I can see limiting the catsuit as a female-only option, but with the implants being usable on ANY female toon, Now I'm a bit miffed.
being able to put borg implants on my Male Joined Trill toon would have totally been teh bomb, as it would let me tie this toon together perfectly with his history, where I played in an e-mail sim, and he was "Lost" during a mission fighting the Borg.

Otherwise I've rather like the 7 of 9 set.
