B'Tran "Aid the Planet" mission rewards HORRIBLE!!

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
This has prolly been posted before numerous times, and I hope Cryptic is going to fix this....

Uncommon Science Console Astrometric Imaging Scanner Mk XI............. 90% of the "Offering of Freindship" boxes give this piece of TRIBBLE item as a reward.
This item being so abundant the only viable option is to vendor/recycle it which no where near compensates for the cost of commdities you deliver to complete the mission. Even on Advanced mission difficulty it's the same. PLEASE adjust this loot table with more random items and a comeasurate chance at rare or even very rare items that we can actually use or sell on the exchange.

Thanks.

There is a chance to get some serious stuff from the "Aid the Planet" Rewards.
A few months back, I got a purple Mk XI deflector.
Admittedly it was totally useless to me but I sold it on the Exchange for a nice price.
One that compensated for commodities from here till the next...decade?:)
So between all the lame rewards it is possible to receive a very good one once in
    a while.

AtPs are gambles. You're taking a chance that you'll get something exceptional. Most of the time you break even, or make a slight profit. Once and a while you get burned. Ultimately you're supposed to be doing it for the Diplomacy XP rather then energy credits.

My request isn't about the creds or the Diplomacy XP..... the xp is nice and creds are easy to come by.

The issue is that 90% of the loot I get from these friendship boxes gives the same item. It's specific for one ability and the exchanged is extremely saturated with this same quality, same console. I don't mind uncoomon quality items........ but the same exact console 90% of the time? The Loot table is faulty. it needs to change.

While I understand what you're saying, I will simply only respond by saying that while it does come up a lot, it doesn't come up 9 out of every 10 missions. It's probably more like 5 out of 10. It just seems like a lot more because you might only do an AtP mission once every couple of days. Still, it would be nice to see a little more variety.

Draken, the next time you open one of those offers, wait until you're back in sector space. A few of us had mentioned it on the forums a while back, and someone figured out this temporary solution.

That's probably why I never encountered the high rate problem. I sometimes don't open the items for days after I get them.

    DAYS?
Okay now that's something I hadn't even heard of.
Almost sounds like an incubation time for whatever is in that box to develop properly.

Rather then running dailies every day with all the alts I pick the missions and let them sit a couple of days so I can do 2 dailies in a row with an alt. Then the next day I pick the missions again and let them sit for a couple of more days. Then I move onto the next alt. So it can be 2-3 days before I get back to a character, and even then I might not open the item right away; especially on the alts that are already purpled out.

I end up getting SIF generators... they sell for MAD MONEY... but I have no use for them myself.
I have done the B'tran aid the planet mission at LEAST 5 times since it became available.
All 5 times, SIF generator. *Shrug* Cash cow really...

The only thing I've gotten from B-Tran and B-Tran (Vice Admiral) "Aid the Planet" missions is the Astrometrics Console (which you can't even Exchange any more, there are so many) and twice I got Rare Holomatrix diodes.

I've been RA / VA for a month or month and a half, amybe a little longer. Seriously, this is the only loot I ever get, which doesn't even cover the cost of replicating the stuff I send down to the planet.

And Very Rares? Forget it. They don't exist. If I ever found one, I'd likely have a massive coronary.

I just got it as well...plan to sell it as well.

I wait until I get 8-10 of those and then open them all at once, I have always gotten 1 purple, 1-2 blues and rest greens. Biofunction Monitors (is that what they are called? The ones that aid in crew survival/recovery time) sell really well on the exchange. I'll admit that green Holomatrix consoles are the "wah-waaahhhh' reward (reminds me of the donkey on "Let's Make a Deal"), like getting Synthale as a drop on an Elite ground mission.

    Greetings.

The last seven times I got an "Aid the Planet" mission as Vice Admiral in the B'Tran Nebula on Elite difficulty, the reward consisted of the following item:

Console - Science - Astrometric Imaging Scanner MK XI. Uncommon. + 16 Astrometrics.

Do note that this particular mission appears rather infrequently, so these seven consoles were acquired during weeks of play time.

I feel compelled to question the variation of the rewards involved. Or the lack of variation as it were.

The appearance of the above console create a certain lack of excitement, with regard to the aforementioned mission type. ;)

I just got a resilient mk x [cap]x3 shield array from an aid the planet. It's currently sitting in my bank. They do exist, its just rare.
