Recently I have just got back into this game and noticed a few changes. I have been reading some post, and I am sort of confused about overcapping and maximizing my DPS overall. I have no problems with weapons build or the weapons I use; but I do run 100 weapons setting on my BoP which in turn with passives add to 115. If I use BO skills my weapons is usually capped at 125 but DPS on each weapons says doubled DPS. Right now, I am questioning if I should reduce my settings to a 90 weapons and 60 shields setting or leave it as it is. I honestly dunno if reaching the 125 cap limit waste my overall ship power.
P.S. Running EPS console, and 2 Field Emitters (Will Upgrade to a Field Generator) for my 3 Engineer Consoles.

Wrong forum first of all..
Now, most BOPs are set up either as a makeshift scienceship, or as a DPS monster...
If you go DPS (Heavy Tactical) Youll want every bit of weaponpower you can get.. Every time you shoot more than one energy weapon at a time, you suffer a 10-12 point energy drain on your weapons (turrets are lower though). So.. If you shoot say 3 DHC and 2 Turrets, your energy will drop with 35-36 points.. Start at 115, and youll drop to around 80.
Now, you have a soft cap of 125 (capped here for calculating DPS), but energy in excess of this, will count against the drain.
Additionally, since you have weak shields and hull, youll have to rely on speed for defense.
Therefore, my suggestion in regards to your loadout would be to drop the EPS console (no need if all you do is DPS) and replace the Field Emitters with weapon power consoles (the MK XI Field Emitter is a waste on a BOP as well.. 35% of "very little" is still "very little")
Then fit a Hyperimpulse engine, preferably with spd/aux/turn mods in that order, and set your energy distribution to 100/25/50/25
*Edit* Oh, and I can really recommend fitting a (1) dual beam bank and BOL2 or 3, if you havent allready.. BOL3 can put the hurt on anyone..
the EPS is for setting switching, when I am in PvP and I need to disengage most of the times I need to switch to engines. The good pvp groups wont let you get away from just battlecloak. Like I said I am looking for overall efficiency for my ship. My weapons settings are almost capped out; I wanna survive long enough to use Battlecloak when an escort decides to pick on me.

Engine battery.. Combined with Evasive and Hyperimpulse engines = 20k distance in 2 secs. And you lose the need for the EPS console.
Also, I can recommend using A2Dampeners as well.. It gives a huge turning boost, resists and a pretty nice speedboost..
A2Dampeners, Omega3, Evasive and a battery = nothing can catch you
Consider this:
A good escort (which you are mimicking) are all about burst damage.. Your DPS output will drop significantly after the initial 5 secs.. And honestly theres no reason to stick around then (unless you are not under fire and just have to wait a few secs on a 2nd HYT volley..
So.. Decloak, do your burst, wait a few secs to finish someone off if needed, disengage.. Doing that means that the Feds often wont pick you up, before youre disengaged (and thus, you wont need to use ALL your speedbuffs to disengage), then you BC.. Wait some 10-12 secs on your CDs and repeat the process..

Noticed this is a old thread but just incase..assuming here your going after DPS..2 def no no's...never put wep pwr setting below 100 and always keep shields as LOW as possible and choose between higher Aux or Engines to be the 2nd highest..me personally i keep a 100/25/70?/25 set up as my main setting preset and 25/70?/25/100 to heal with when im out of combat...Shield power setting is USELESS in combat as well as any Crew regen consoles as well..mainly for the fact Shields (even at 125 with regen shields) wont regen even remotely fast enough in combat if at all. so why waste even 1% in that setting when u can put all that into engines for better turn. Not to mention Shield pwr ONLY effects the regen rate.

Of course im speaking of PvPs and not STFs
tb1, st2, vm1, psw3
tt1, thy2, bo3
epts1, rsp1
ph1, fbp1
all disruptor build. 1dbb accx3, 2DHC crtHx3, 1quantumtorp crtHx3, 2 turrets.
shield batts, aux batts
stay alive, kill bad guys with battle cloak, and 3 purple evasive doffs.
practice the timing....
hint: do NOT throw out viral matrix as part of the alpha. and aux batt is for buffed fbp.
