Well, you lucky, lucky people. There's been some shifting around of assets, titles, and people, and Haz, in his infinite, majestic, and genius wisdom, saw fit to raise myself and Zero up to the lofty ranks of Co-Leaders of the Fleet. Called Ten Forward.

As part of this new deal, every member of AFCTF will pay both Zero and myself 'subs' to be members, consisting of 1,000,000 EC's a week. In lieu of that, you can take Hort into PVP and blow him up mercilessly, 30 times on the trot. Each.

No? Ohhh....okay, then.

Naturally, Krent's still admin, however, both myself and Zero wanted to be very pro-active in the running of things, and we decided a good way to kick things off into high gear would be to do a Fleet Run of the Crystalline Entity. That's right, we're both huge, huge masochists, and wanted you guys to feel the pain of running a massively bugged task. Since Terrordome won't encompass all of us, CE seemed to be the next best thing.

Tentatively scheduled for Sunday, October 31st (Halloween, people!) at the following times:

8pm BST
3pm EST
2pm Whatever that one in the middle is ST
1pm Pacific

At this point, we ARE, obviously, open to suggestions and amendments on time - however, not TOO late in the day, please, as some of us live in Europe. It was also going to be fancy dress, until Zero quite rightly pointed out that we'd be in our ships for the majority of it. However, after we kill the CE (HAHAHAHAH, yeah, right) I'm going to have a celebratory party in the lounge of my ship, and, guess what? Fancy Dress Party. The best costume will win a million ECs, too, and we'll have music provided (hopefully), courtesy of Rogues Radio - the AFCTF official radio station.

Let's rock.

Lemme think. BST is GMT +1 currently, I think, so that would put PST at -8 to BST then. So, I'm thinking instead of 1 PM Pacific, wouldn't it be 12 PM PST (GMT -7), 1 PM MST (GMT -6), 2 PM CST (GMT -5), and 3 PM EST (GMT -4), base on 8 PM BST? Though I think this is subject to change when Daylight Savings Time ends, which I don't think is until sometime next month, so that shouldn't be a problem. But I'm not so sure on time conversions, as I've based PST of of Cryptic's announcements since they've always included the GMT difference in their mantience times.

There's also the possiblity that we won't be able to group the different ranks together for the run if. I'd suggest also organizing into rank-oriented sub-groups if we cannont group VAs, RAs, Capt.s, and etc. together. This might be something we'll need to scout out to see if we can get around it before hand, as it may present a problem if we all don't have characters at the same rank.

As for fancy dress, couldn't we also do fancy ship dress? It'd be interesting to see how many different fancy ship designs we'd get in the end.

If we all run with VAs, I'll bring Iaeger and the Arizona (and no, I won't bring my Constitution [though I'm tempted to now]. I'll bring the Sovereign) to the shindig and work on the formal uniform in the mean time. I have an idea as to what I want to use, but I'm not so sure. And I'll go ahead a throw out there's the possibility we won't be home at 3 PM. I never know what time we're gonna be home on Sundays because we usually get groceries after church on Sundays, but I think we're home by 2 PM most of the time.

I still haven't picked up all the pieces of my ship from when Zero fought me once
It was like fighting hit-girl or something, I just wanted to tap out and stay dead....

The United States has 4 time zones.

    So would be:
    8 pm BST
    3 pm EST
    2 pm CST
    1 pm MST
    12 pm PST

Well, it was a quick death at least
Actually that's seriously a good thing. I've been in a pvp stalemate before, those aren't any fun. It's just a battle to see who can stay in the game without being disconnected longer. Then I lose because I have comcast :(

I know that feeling. I've been in a stalemate in a 1 on 1 match on two separate occasions. Needless to say, not one kill was made by either party in the hour, I think, each on lasted. One was against a Gal-R and the other was a BoP.

Technically I think we are the same fleet rank. It's good that you two are up now as well, I have been totally sidetracked playing Minecraft lately.

Woot, I don't think I have any plans for Halloween so count me in.

Maybe we should choose a single timezone for us all to acclimate to. That way everyone only has to remember one timezone to convert. GMT seems to be fairly universal on the internet.

Glad you are getting more of a response than my thread, not that I offered much to discuss in it.

I would love slamming my **** in a drawer, I mean tackling the totally balanced and exquisitely programmed (and totally not buggy) Crystalline Entity alongside such distiguished persons as yourselves!

Barring injury, power outage, or family emergency I'll be there. Let me know if I should respec back to my cruiser tank/healer (currently in a Tac Escort Refit).

Yeah, why not, as long as we get loads of people on vent for it, since that will up the hilarity factor to over 9000!

Or UTC, which is still GMT, but it may remove daylight confusions.

I'll agree. A Universal time would be good.

Bump: We need more people to join us!

Also, next time we see Haz we should ask him to give us use of the ingame fleet event calendar.

How many more are needed? I have a few more Mercs I would trust in a STF I could tap.

Well, it is the Crystaline Entity, so the more the better I guess. I think the instance allows 20 players? More than 5 would be nice. Maybe we can put a shout out in the Ten Forward channel too, there are a few new people there.

All Blackwater Mercs except one is a 10ite. I will drop a fleet mail for volunteers. If we are still shy I will start picking involuntary volunteers.

Since we are going to make another attempt at this, I am going to repost the link to this CE Guide.

If anyone hasn't read it or something similar, it gives a really good idea of how the thing works.

Okide Dokie. To be on the safe side, I'll probably need to drop my quantum mines as a precaution prior to hitting stage 3 won't I? Or before we even start as far as that goes.

These normal Crystalline Fragments can be shot at and killed without creating any sort of negative side effect, other than the fact that DPS focusing on crystals fragments is DPS that isn’t focused on the Entity. This is why, contrary to popular belief, mines are actually extremely helpful, but only during phases 1 and 2.

from the guide, would keep them but have something to swap them out for.

One thing i feel i have to mention, there is no way to make sure we all get in to the same instance of the CE encounter. none.

so this may fail with out a shot being fired.

Over the years, I've really come to admire your optimism, Hop.

Right, I've made an exective decision.

If you've posted in this thread, you've retroactively agreed to take part. This is for two reasons - firstly, not many people have said they'll do this. Secondly, I'm tired of people spamming threads with meaningless TRIBBLE. If you don't show and don't let either myself, Zero, or Krent know beforehand, I will dropkick you, and/or find some delicious punishment for making a thread seem popular (by boosting the page count) and therefore making people think "Oh, they have enough people already". TRIBBLE you, hippies - get a job and cut your damned hair.

I've split the people who'd posted so far into two teams, based on (known) ability:

    Team One:
    Flasherman
    Captain_Zero
    The Prophster
    Duckdee

    Team Two:
    Krent
    Hort_Wort
    The Hopster

I'd ideally like at LEAST one more team, so Zero can Commadore it, and another team on top of that, if Haz wants to join in.

I've keep extra beam arrays with me so I can probably swap out the mines for the array I've got in reserve because of adding dual beam banks to my ships instead.

I'd suggest getting a group of people together before our run and seeing in the different levels can get in the same instance. From past experiences, I know that RAs cannot get in with LtCs and vice versa. I'm not so sure if RAs and VAs can run together or not. But this is something we do need to look into before Halloween.

And depending on what rank we run, I have an Engineer at VA, a Tactical at Capt. and a Science ant Cmdr. and LtC. I dont know if that'll make any difference or not, but I'll go ahead and throw that out.

I cant wait for this. I'm as ready for it as I can be.

On a side note, I'd suggest a test to see if we can get various levels into the map.

Is instance changing not allowed in these? It has been a while since I tried. But I doubt there are many people who still try the CE at admiral level, so there won't be many instances running. Addidtionaly, we will be grouped and the game is good about putting grups into the same instance, but the groups themselves may get sepparated. We will find out won't we?

Do we have anyone who does not have a VA? If you have a RA it should not be hard to level it before then.

I have plans on 10/31, so I will not be there.
