Hello to all Feds, and klingons and everyone I've forgotten to mention.

I'm thinking about downloading Xpadder so I can use my xbox controler for the ground missions in STO. I was wondering if anyone who has used this could tell me if you had any problums I should watch out for with the software itself?
I have two different toons in STO now, will I have problums setting up two different control settings, one for each toon?
Thanks,
Comments
Right now i use my Xbox controller with nothing else but bind key command in STO. I have 3 toon but i only use one setup. Technically you could use a txt file for each toon and load them when you change toon.
If it's the latter, than you should be able to use it just fine simply by turning it on, as STO & CO both have built in support for the controller in question. You can customize it further through keybinds.
Sorry, I meant the Xbox 360 controller.
Hey there, I can not even get my Xpadder to work. It keeps using the controls through the game. Do you know how I can fix that?
Maybe it hasn't worked right since 2010 when this thread died. -shrug-
Plus a big part of the issue is that new posters are limited to only replying in threads so they often necro a thread because they cannot make one of their own discussing what they want to discuss.
Er...wow. Of all the rationalizations I've ever heard for anything, this is definitely a contender for "Weakest, Bar None." So locking "dead" threads would be a bad idea because then people who can't create threads would have to hijack live ones instead of necro-ing old ones?
-facepalm-
I was simply explaining why we often see so many necroed threads by new posters: it is because they do not have the ability to make their own threads. They post on an existing topic because they cannot make a new topic. If Cryptic removed the newb posting limitation you would probably see less necroing.
Hogwash. Write a script to auto-lock non-sticky threads only, and problem solved. It's not neurosurgery. See, to sticky one there's a flag set denoting the thread as such...you make sure the script in question checks for that flag.
We'd also see a lot less with a competently-written script locking them down automatically, as already suggested.
To stay on topic here, I tried to use it, and had nothing but trouble with the software. I only use the in game keybinds you can type into the chat box.
Check out this link: http://www.tbwgaming.com/forums/m/147781/viewthread/146574-xbox-360-controller-keybindings
This helped me out a lot. It gives the designation to the individual controller buttons, and explains how to enter the keybinds.
Tim.
This should help you get started with XBOX keybinds, now for ground its still pending.
