I've been playing STO for some time now on my new laptop HP notebook dv3 and everything has been just smooth in every way. But tvo days ago when I logged in the gamegraphics was totally messed up. It looks like an LSD-trip with changing colours, the vectors in sector space bending in every possible way, small dots appear, screen fades out and turns black and sometimes (when not moving and only in a certain angles) everything looks like it should. I also see what I think is called "artifacts" when some random and basic 3d-objects appear out of nowhere.
I've not changed any drivers or alterd any settings, for some reason everything just when straight to chaos. Dunno if there was a patch released this thursday or anything, but otherwise Im clueless.
Tried to alter the graphic settings ingame but no effect. Updated the graphicdrivers but still no effect in STO. Other games (such as operation flashpoint dragon rising) works without any problems still.
The main graphic card in the laptop is ATI Radeon HD 4550 and it's only on this card I experience the problem (the motherboard in the laptop has a secondary low-energy graphic card which works with out problems, besides from beeing slow and ugly). The only problem I know about on the computer is that GfxUI crasches from time to time, but I dont really know what this is and it seems to be something related to the backup energysaving graphic card.
Any ideas what it might be?
