hi i have been saving up my embelms now for a few weeks ready to outfit my new ret-escort, before season 2 i used to get my pvp weapons from K7 and my pve weapons from omega, now that mark XI weapons are in the game which i get from ESD(sol) in the center and sold together, please could someone tell me how do i tell the diffrence between pvp and pve weapons
whats your goal? what role does your ship play? dunno i can´t really say much but well phasers and disruptors are a nice choice cause they don´t use as many skillpoints, and for torps may check out quantums, but generally the difference betwen the weapon types seems pretty insignificant. but things to consider would be it you use cannons or a mix of cannons and beams and/or torps, and which skills you use to buff them...
but that´s just my opinion and im not really an expert on escorts.

I tend to disagree weapons selection is key going all phaser or disrupters can leave you in a bind sure there common and easy to get however there also easy to defeat with the right equipment.
I like to mix it up a bit and run one Tachyon beam to burn out shields a polron beam for crit couple of plasma beams to light you on fire and a disrupter to debuff.
some equipment can give up to +21 or more dmg res to phasers and disrupters. In this setup you have at least one beam that is doing full bleed dmg and full hull dmg. I would use chrono torps to slow down turn speed keep that one shield in front of you.

I personally am not a fan of the mixing of weapon types just from the standpoint of spending additional skill points on weapons that can be spent in other areas. However in response to the OP I would say that no weapon type is better than the other. They all work and can be very effective. I run a Phaser only setup with Quantum torps and it suits me very well. Depends more on you than the weapons.
For PVP the K7 very rare weapons. PVE Omega. The mk XI weapons aren't really on my list of things to get. They don't have the mods that the K7 mods have.
I think the OP wants assistance on which of the 2 weapons listed is for pve and pvp and not a discussion of what weapon type to use. If you look at the emblem vendors store, she lists for example 2 dhc version, one with [dmg] and one without. I really think he just wants to know which could be deemed the PvE (omega quality) and which is the PvP (K7 equivalent). I'm pretty sure the one with the [dmg] is the PvP equivalent. I could be wrong but i'm going by the dps numbers.
ROFL they all have [dmg] mods on them! I guess the one with higher crit severity or crit chance would be the PvP (K7 equivalent).

thasnks this is indeed what the op wanted to know!;)

I tend to agree with this statement, the ones found on Sol base don't entice me to upgrade from K7 weapons. They are a bit more dps but very minor upgrades. I won't turn them away if they drop for me but im not feeling the love with the Mark XI gear.
I have looked at the new weapons and I don't think I like them. I prefer the extra Crit chance and the extra Crit damage that the purples give. It's Crits that kill ships.
As to weapon types, for an Escort, I prefer Disruptors or Antiprotons. I have seen both give good amounts of Crits. Again, Its Crits that kill ships.
I never mix weapons types. Train one type and only one type.
I never mix Beams and Cannons. Train one or the other.
I try to save EVERY Capt. Skill point I can for the Capt. Engineering skills. I can get +5 to the max power cap and an extra 20 power from training them. More power = more damage. Bottom line, ALWAYS train every Engineering skill that has the words WEAPON and/or SHIELD.
It never hurts to place from 1 to 3 points into any Engineering skill with the words Aux and/or Engines.
If using beams, make sure to get and use -
Beam Array Overload 2
and
Beam Array Overload 3
You can stack them if you time it right. That's a one, tow punch that most ships can not take.
