As I see it right now...
There needs to be more of a stratigic path that the PvP modes offer. For instance Eject Warp Plasma, a great ability in theory but with nothing to make enemy groups fly close to one another that ability is basicly a tractor beam with good damage.. you might hit 2 enemy ships on average. coupled with the fact you must be in a cruiser to perform this ability almost forces one to use evasive manuvers in combonation with it.
I am a huge fan of the "fun" abilities but i feel like they don't have enough impact in PvP (or PvE...).
Let the PvP ques work towards being a tournament style system with statistics and messurable goals...
Let PLAYERS dictate the private ques. Like in first person shooters... theres no mode for pistols only, players just agree to honor that arrangment.
This can be accomplished with a system simalir to "open teams". so if i open a private que, other players passing by can see match rules and also join if they want. (have a deep space encounter looking entity in space were the PvP battle was opened). this would solve open world pvp and the fact that space feels empty. the system you enter the private que from could dictate scenery. systems can now be used for tailgating parties essentially. a big fleet action is never noticed because they are in there own private worlds...
make spectating an option.
and the ability to see what allies you have in a specific que (ie. are there any healers, dps, buff/debuffers... etc) or the ability to change ships and bridge officer selection at the start of pvp match so players can coordinate, or on the fly as battle progresses after you respawn.
inovative ideas are great but not when they are limited by technological deficientcies. so an open world like WOW might not be possible (lets be honest space graphics are 10000% better than wows "intense" stuff) but there are ways outside the box to expande the idea of space so its not so empty... vast yes but empty?
also why not impliment a PvP reward system that gives players green and blue rewards for less badges, marks, emblems, etc.. this would help players with less time on their hands by allowing them to feel some accomplishment from pvping. maybe give the highest ranked damage player a reward per match, as well as a reward for most heals. buffs and debuffs can be messured in a way where the over all durration of the buffs is accounted for and whoever has done the most overall buff/debuff times gets a reward as well.
i would also like to see the vice admiral (or new max level in the futur) PvP rewards and the lower levels be diffrent. i dont need the skill points/bridge officer skill points, merits are not really that helpful unless i want to rename someone, and energy credits are nice... but maybe gold latinum instead.. (maybe new rewards for latinum too... better holos to emit...) but ya in any case at vice admiral my goals have changed and shifted significantly. solo is no longer viable even with the tank/healer class. soo if i am going to PvP how about a klingon/fed holo emiter that can fool enemys like a sensor jam for 5 min... runs out like a potion/hypospray. it will confuse as many allies as it will enemies so the balance thing issue isnt allways a problem with these kinds of ideas. if the ability works well enough then i wouldnt know from a split-second-look if they were friend or ally either. I miss gile being apart of PvP (like in ultima online, selling blank scrolls as house deeds

or goin invis and provoke 5 dragons onto an enemy... and be picking their pocket as they try to survive.) stealing from players is a good thing. maybe not equiped gear but if its green or lower why not make these items act as drop? lets scramble for items (make it its own que type??). as of right now tho i feel pvp is only ment to get better gear to pvp with, but with a lack of pvp community grouping "like" players in matchs is very hit or miss... games are over far too quick or take way to long (upwards of 2 hours) and theres no diffrence in reward for that.. which is why alot of players run in and try to die as much as they can, just to get the gear...
can we make a deal? lets only add half and half; new content/ideas and reused content/ideas. theres no need for all the "new" ships to be refits... i would like to see star trek explore not revisit. at least some of the time because i do love my TNG enterprise's.
