Power tray of pure annoyance.

There are many big and small things that need to be fixed in this game, but for me one of the most game stopping things is the small thing called the power tray.

First off it puts my ships weapons on there every time I change instance, which is annoying, but I could life with it.

Now also my skills get put on there at random confusing me in pvp forcing me to spend 10 seconds each time to remove all of them hoping I do not miss click and waste a cooldown I might need in the fight soon to come.

Please fix the damn thing, If I don't put stuff on there don't think I want it on there and just leave it off there so I can use it with my own layout which I put on there for a very good reason.

Thank you so much.

there's a somewhat round-about, but easy way to stop the weapons to show up on the power tray:
click the little arrow to the left of the tray and move the weapons to the fourth or fifth tray, that'll stop them from showing up in the first available slot.

you can also use this to get rid of abilities you never use, like ramming speed and abandon ship.

(Cryptic in their infinite wisdom decreed that all weapons should always be on the tray... to stop people from going: "I just dinged Rear Admiral, where are all my powers? I only have the three weapons I started with at Lt1!"... I Think).

the part where it randomly rearranges itself...

it *should* only do that when you either change ships, or change bridge officer assignments.
there IS a way to ... perhaps not stop it from happening, but slow it down somewhat...
press and hold the right mousebutton over an empty power tray slot.. drag it a bit and you'll notice you've picked up a Starfleet icon. this is a placeholder that the game uses to remember where powers are... and it's annoying... since if you move a power to an empty slot, you're also TRADING PLACES with whatever tray the game remembers was in that spot.
to reset it, drag off all the 'empty' icons and start fresh.

I agree, when I remove things from the tray, they shoudl STAY removed.

Also, why the blazes am I limited to 8 slots per row? Why can't we expand that to include all the keys from the top row?

    Strange design choices.

Oh you can have 10 slots in a row, but then you don't get to see your BOFFs or the weapons tray ....

Try hitting P and check the little box in the corner that says lock power bar. That should help. Of course you have to uncheck it to rearrange it yourself.

I tried this, it still keeps adding the weapons to the empty slots.

To add to the fun, sometimes a patch will shuffle all your skills without you doing anything...

that is the easiest thing to fix of all.

    put it in three-bar mode.
click the up-arrow to the left of the top bar a few times to get to an empty bar.
move all of your weapons there.
click the down-arrow to the left of the top a few times to get back to bar #3.

I'd really like to see more slots added to the trays. Maybe 2 or 3 more, at least. Either that or be able to have the 3-tray window open while still seeing my BOffs. Doesn't seem to make sense that you can't have your BOff avatars up if you have the 3-trays up.

I don't understand why we can't have 12-slot bars. If you look in the key bindings section, there's key bindings for buttons 1-12, Ctrl 1-12 and Alt 1-12. They wouldn't have put that in if there was no intention of letting us have 12-button bars!

I would also like the ability to drag out a bar and place it where I want. Yes, having 1-3 more slots per bar would be nice, but I can usually get by without that.... though I'd rather have those extra slots! :-)

But being able to put them where I want them would be awesome!
