I have a question about that item. Shouldn't equiping it actually show bigger shield value in the ship defence info? I mean my shields are still 7800s after I equiped this console. And in space still numbers don't seem to change.
Anyone?
I'm not asking if it stacks. I'm trying to figure out if it even works. As I said my shield power stays at the same level as before equipiding the console.

They work, but you need to enter something like a DSE, space exploration mission, etc. before you'll see the changes reflected in the ship stats. I believe outside Earth space dock also works for this.
This is highly disappointing, I have wasted 25 emblems that are fairly time consuming to acquire on a 2nd console that doesn't stack at all. Where is the in-game warning for this telling players only one of this type of Mk XI console will work? Devs, either fix the console so it stacks or warn people IN BIG BOLD LETTERS at the Mk XI store AND the device info that this console does not stack.
There is a thread about it in the tribble section. The consoles should stack, that they don´t is a bug. But the devs think the value is too high at 35% so they´re probably gonna nerf it.

plzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplzplz cryptic, would you let them stack, at least with diminishing returns!? otherwise I am really annoyed. and u wont like a trekkie when hes ****ed!
It is also worth noting that no console has diminishing returns. Not a single one. That or they all do, depending on how you look at it.* So it is highly unlikely they would implement new code to make this the first one to do so, especially with the devs busy on coding other things, like the Foundry.
Given that, if they made it stack, the first thing they'd do is cut the values, probably in half. And so you would need two just to be where you are now. From a game balance perspective, that would probably be a good thing, mind you, a severe drop in the amount the console gives. Right now, sort of a must use.
*Now, I'm sure me saying that no console has DR will have a few people itching to reply and explain how I'm wrong. I'll head that off at the pass. I'm not. +10 from 2 consoles is the same as +20 from one. No DR.
Now, that leaves the stat itself, maybe it has DR. Well, they all do or they all don't, depending on how you look at it.
Going from 0 resists to 50 resists is a 1/3rd reduction in incoming damage. It also means it takes 50% more damage to kill you. And increasing that 50 to 100 means you take an additional 1/6th less. It also means it takes an additional 50% of base damage to kill you, 100% of the base now, which is quite linear. Likewise, these same ratios apply to +damage. Going from 0% to +50% damage means you kill 1/3rd faster. Going from 50% to 100% means it takes an additional 1/6th of base less, you now kill 2x as fast. This same thing applies to all skills, all modifiers. So do they all have DR or not? Just a matter of perspective.
And shield capacity would be no different. Going from 10k shielding to 13.5k is a 35% increase. Going from 13.5k to 17k is a 26% increase. But both consoles would net you 3.5k additional shields. Except, of course, if they stacked, they'd have a considerably lower value

if i read it correctly then should the
Console - Tactical - Directed Energy Distribution Manifold MK XI (+ 2X to Starship Beam Weapons)
don't stack too?
So it's currently not worth saving up for it?
I was excited to have 14K shields.
Those do stack, but they may suffer from a diminishing return penalty (not sure about those console types).
2. I worked hard to get a second 1.
3. There WAS NO WARNING!
4. There are no diminishing returns rewards either......
Well done cryptic, you screwed me over again........
Btw, love the work you did in season 3
