It's been a while since we've seen a concerted effort to collect general player feedback in the PvP forum. So let's give it another shot. I don't work for Cryptic, but I'm sure they'd pay more attention to an organized feedback thread than yet another rant (or at worst, we can organize the rants a little). I know I'm at least a little curious to see what people have to say.

Yes to both
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Yes, especially in a premade vs. premade situation.
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Generally yes, except for carriers, which are noticeably worse than the others, and BoPs, which are marginally better than the pack because of their universal BOFF slots.
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
Generally yes, with two notable exceptions: RSP, which is substantially more powerful than any other single BOFF ability, and ensign tactical skills.
List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed.
New abilities are needed to bring the value of the various
RSP needs to be brought back in line with the effectiveness of a single appropriate-rank Engineering power, but this will likely force changes in the overall damage vs. survivability balance model.
Carriers need help - their deployables have terrible AI, no UI, and die instantly to AE attacks.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).
There is not enough emphasis on social aspects of PvP, such as fleet vs. fleet encounters.
5 people is an inconveniently large number to get together on a regular basis - 3v3 might be more manageable on both the personnel and combat levels, and 1v1 would be great too.
List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons.
Cryptic should start running PvP events on a regular schedule (weekly?) to create a "focal point" for PvP activity game-wide.

General information: List the names, levels, and career/ship type of the characters you actively PvP with. Are any of them in "PvP Fleets"?
I don't have any characters in PVP fleets. All of these will eventually be VA1/LtG1, all were RA5 before season 2, and I try to PVP regularly with all of them.
On a scale of 1-10, how "hardcore" would you say you are about PvE?
6, I don't do elite typically, but I do enjoy the storylines as well as the STFs in a decent team.
On a scale of 1-10, how "hardcore" would you say you are about PvP?
8, its definitely more fun for me, and I put effort into getting a good build for what I want to do, but I won't join PVP fleets.
As an aside, it seems this section could use another question or two, since it seems as if its an attempt to see where our interests lie, but doesn't include stuff like social or RP interests.
About how many hours a week do you spend PvPing?
10-15 maybe, but it can vary greatly.
In an ideal world, how much of your PvP time (as %'s) would you LIKE to spend: Solo, PUGing, and in a premade?
1%, 80%, 19% PUGging is most interesting to me, to meet up with random people in random ship/captain combinations and trying to adapt to the situation and work with them to succeed. Of course that is only when they are actually trying to play, not "I'm just here for dailies! /afk"
In reality, how much of your PVP time (as a %) is ACTUALLY spent in solo/PUG/premade?
With the way PUGs typically work... 50%, 40%, 10%.
Gameplay and Balance: Do you enjoy playing your chosen class/ship combination(s) in PvP?
By far, the science ship is the most frustrating and varies greatly as to whether I feel like I'm an asset to the team or not. I do not want to spend all my time in full aux power just tossing heals and waiting for science powers to come off cooldown, yet that seems to be the intended way to play a science ship. The others I feel very good about.
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
No, tactical is definitely the strongest of the bunch, and Science is the weakest. They are very close in terms of balance, but for science, the biggest reason it is close is because of SNB, but its hurt by the aux dependence on its powers, as well as relying on expensive and not secondarily useful science skills to buff the captain powers, while the other captains get very good passive effects from investing skills into their trees.
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
No, Carriers and science ships are lacking because of their focus on science powers and skills.
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
In general, the science power tree needs some real reconsideration. Go through the science ship forums and you see pretty much the same handful of powers suggested again and again.
Some science powers suffer from odd shared cooldowns that other ships do not have to worry about so much. For example I think energy siphon has a deflector dish cooldown which means you can't use it and transfer shield strength at the same time (or is that tachyon beam?). It seems arbitrary and pointless and can force certain powers to fall by the wayside because you need other powers.
Other science powers are just too weak either because it was nerfed too hard, or because the long cooldown hurts the actual effectiveness. Jam sensors has a very long cooldown which is totally inappropriate since it was made fragile and only affects one target, and can be cleared by something with half the cooldown. Viral matrix is the easy to point at power that was nerfed too hard. Hazard emitters and Transfer shield strength also have inappropriately long cooldowns because they are a science heavy ship's primary defensive powers, yet they can't cycle them continuously with two copies.
Tactical and science team 3 are utterly terrible options for LtC slot skills. Engineering powers got a good buff with 1.2, and are the best example of a good, mostly balanced tree. Beam powers are lacking a bit.
List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed.
Burst damage is still extremely high. Others have said it elsewhere, but you can go from 100-0 hull way too fast if you are unbuffed.
Ground combat needs a serious look. With so much emphasis on active buffs there, and virtually nothing in the way of passive defenses outside equipment, you are pretty much only able to increase your offense, while your defense is static.
Science skills need passive effects, and aux power should get one too. There is far too much inequity here with the skill point spread between escorts, cruisers, and science ships and bang for the buck. And to that point see this thread... http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=166285
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).
Auto, forced teaming in all matches! PUGs don't like to team or won't team or whatever, and its incredibly difficult to work as a team in those situations.
Inactivity issues. You know, the problem where someone sits out the entire match cloaked or on the edge of the map.
Rewards for PVP need to be increased. It is a grind, a very long grind if you want to level via PVP. It can be fun, but its so much faster to level via PVE.
List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons.
PVP does need some kind of territory control aspect.
Something needs to happen to try and bring more low level players into PVP. The queues are very slow and sparse at low levels, to say nothing of the current problems with the queues.
Cloak detection needs redone, to be much less binary in how it works.
Super short answer: In 10 words or less, what do you WANT out of your PvP experience?
Fun, to feel like we had a chance to win.
In 10 words or less, how can the game be changed to better provide it?
Better balancing, fix PUGging issues with teams and non-combatants.
For fun: If you could use any combination of ships and captains you wanted, what would your ultimate Tournament 5v5 team setup be?
The most chaos would be had with 5 science Galaxy refits against 5 science Vo'Quvs. So many NPCs! But I don't have a real interest in tournaments.
Late additions: How do you feel about the pace of PvP space combat in Season 2?
It varies wildly based on teamwork. People still pop too fast unprepared and unassisted, especially from focus fire, yet with a good team they can potentially live forever. I think that needs to be brought away from the extremes somehow.

List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed. 1. Feedback Pulse - Was a good defense for science ships and is now so weak its a waste.
2. Damage Vs. Healing - Currently BURST Damage is very high but damage over time is pitiful. This needs to be rebalanced. Also healing need to be toned down when done on oneself.
3. Carriers - They need some reconfiguring.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck). 1. Ability Stacking. (Too many skills need to be stacked together to be effective at healing ro damage)
2. Base ship endurance and damage levels. (Are far too low making us completely reliant on abilites.)
3. Burst damage/healing. (It's all far too extreme. A good cruiser can absorb 3+ escorts for overlong periods of time thanks to massive bursts of healing. Just like a cloaked escort can take out an unsuspecting science ship in meer seconds. Its need to be leveled so that damage is still above healing and enough burst damage can be done to detroy someone but not immiediatly or instantly.) (And yes I know I said it twice but it's true.)

Yes, Each class has a great mix of abilities that compliment each other in a team.
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Each ship class needs the others to be truly effective. The solo power of each ship isn't as important as the group playing together with a common objective.
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
While I would say that RSP gets alot of attention it doesn't change the game to much in my opinion. Its been the way it is as long as I can remember and if changed will cause a ripple effect in the way that most players play the game. Tactical Ensign BOFF abilities as a whole are pretty bad. Very little effectiveness and are used only because we need to use something.

For the most part yes.
RSP is a bit annoying.
Tactical Ensign abilities are really pigeon holed. Dispersal Patterns aren't all that useful I find.
Aux to Batteries doesn't seem to be all that useful. It puts your Emergency Power to X on shared cooldown as well. With the bonuses from EPtX in Season 2, there is even less incentive to run this skill.
DEM I've only really played around with DEM II on my cruiser, but the added shield penetration is quite marginal.
With Shield Resists capped at 75%, I'm not sure as the to usefulness of Extend shields anymore. While provided a significant shield hardening effect, I'm not entirely sure it's worth giving up an RSP and putting it on cool down, as anyone running EPtS and TSS can get pretty close to the 75% resist cap.

It would be nice to have Fleet PvP Scenarios that can allow a more than 5 man teams to go head to head. I don't know how feasible it would be to run a PvP fleet action of 10v10 or 20v20 (and not cap and hold, but perhaps some other Objective based scenario)
List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons.
1.Introduction of more skills and BOff abilities as the level cap increases. If we don't see an increase in these, as players gather more skill points, they'll be able to max almost everything and we will see a loss of specialization and differentiation between builds and cookie cutter builds will become more rampant.

Do you enjoy playing your chosen class/ship combination(s) in PvP?
Yes.
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Somewhat. Maybe it's just a bias (and all the nerfs) as my Sci's are my favorite but they don't seem to be favored as much as Tac or Eng. The Tac/Eng seem to be more powerful and bring more to the table.
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Cruisers with the changes to healing seem to be MUCH harder to take down now, just evidence PvP matches taking forever now.
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
No.
Still don't understand the universal cooldown on the "team" abilities. (just a gripe)
Tac Team, useless.
VM, after what it had been, it's just a minor annoyance to say the least now. (Especially b/c you can't see the thing coming now...)
Beam Overload/FAW, just don't seem to be nearly as powerful as their cannon counterparts (CRF, CSV). Overload has the damage but huge drawback from the weapon drain, FAW isn't directed at any one target unless in a 1v1 scenario. No drawbacks really that I can see from either of the cannon abilities?
List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed.
RSP chaining, just in general I don't like this ability at all. Out of 6 characters I carry 2 copies (1 on BC and Cruiser) and rarely use it at all. Still believe the power should just be given as a Captain power and put on longer timer.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).
1) MORE MAPS!!!! We desperately need some diversity just to change it up.
2) Capturing points takes way too long sometimes and seems borked/bugged lots of times.
3) Better rewards. Much longer matches now currently and for the time spent (emblems, etc) it's much more efficient for players to run exploration quests instead of PvPing. Needs to be more incentive to PvP so we have more of a player base involved in PvP. Maybe add in item rewards much like Kerrat for high numbers etc.

List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed. 1) Klingon ships are remarkably weaker and less diverse in BOFF options than Fed counterparts. The balancing factor that favored Klingons has always been teamwork and experience, and that factor is being lost.
2) Federation players enjoy significantly better access to equipment than Klingons, including rare bridge officer skills. This needs to be brought into alignment better, as the lack of availability and access really hurts new Klingon players and characters.
3) Mines need a boost. The ineffectiveness of mines hurts Federation Escorts and Klingon Raptors because the extra rear weapon mount is not capable of adding a damage bonus on par with the value assigned to it on the ship. It impacts gameplay in a variety of ways, and more effective indirect damage changes PvP for the better (Eject Warp Core Plasma and Photonic Shockwave are two examples where indirect damage add value to the tactical depth of PvP gameplay.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck). 1) Absence of meaningful PvP. There are exactly 0 in-game rewards for any PvP experience on Halodeck once a ship has finalized equipment options.
2) Lack of strategic gameplay. We are Admirals and Generals, and have no way to be the strategic leader of a campaign (even at the PvE level). There are ways to build strategy into MMO, and the Cryptic Engine is capable of doing it.
3) Ground PvP needs a revamp. It just isn't interesting or fun after awhile, and is just as meaningless as the rest of STO PvP. Again, in the context of galactic war, we fight over abandoned facilities.
List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons. 1) Weekly open PvP episodes that are fleet centric signup and have fleet centric rewards that impact the greater faction of the fleet. The Castle Siege/City governance mechanics of Lineage 2 come to mind as a way to have weekly/bi-weekly planetary conquests with starbase ownership - with a unqiue crafting system (and tax of that system) as the reward for the winning faction.
2) Greater focus on Klingon gameplay - including the leveling experience which can include ways to build more variety of PvP with other factions. Instead of story arc missions, I prefer a planet military campaign system where Klingons build their reputation in PvE and PvP in competition over a planet - aganist NPC or other faction players.
3) Faction centric competitions. An obsticle course race from Earth to Mars and back. An arena competition between Klingon houses. PvP can be more than just pew pew the other guy.

In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance? 1v1 I believe the three classes are not equal in power. However, STO PVP is team oriented as it should be, so a good balance of the classes in a group makes them equally important
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance? A good balance of ship types matters in PVP. Klingons are in a disadvantage because they can't choose from as many ship types as Feds can

No. Most Tactical BOFF abilities are rather pointless. They tend to be in my build only because I have nothing else better to pick.
Science BOFF abilities are fine, except MES and tier 2/3 Science Team and tier 2/3 Tractor Beam
Engineering BOFF abilities, I have too little experience to comment on but I feel they are fine. Can't think of any standout exceptions. Maybe Emergency Power to Aux, still too worthless compared to the other 3.

2. Tactical captains need something to address their survivability. They are overly 1 dimensional with overkill on the damage buffs. If you are flying an escort or raptor, the last thing you need is that 3rd or 4th damage buff.

1. Pug pvp is dying. Most are in pvp only for the emblems/marks and not much else. They feel that pvp is a waste of time that's being forced on them because they stand no chance at all. We need a ladder system where the higher ranked players will play against themselves and not be put into matches which are filled with inexperienced pvpers. The ones who enjoy pvp and want to improve themselves will climb up the ladders and eventually play with the good pvpers.

How do you feel about the pace of PvP space combat in Season 2?
STO population is too small to sustain tiered PvP, and people are spread out amongst many tiers with no individual tier having any PvP. The maps should be open rank so that everyone can participate, whether you are Ensign or Rear Admiral. I would suggest changing point allocation so that kills from low rank characters count less than kills from high rank players. So killing a Miranda ship will give you 1 point but killing a Fleet Escort will give you 5 points, etc. This would also adjust the number of players in a map, so you can have 5 RA's against 20 Lieutenants. Basically team size would have to equal points available from kills, so 5 RA's would be 20 points (5 x 5 = 20, because each kill is 5 points) and 20 Lieutenants would be 20 points (20 x 1 = 20, because each kill is 1 point). This allows for a variety of matches and player types as long as the equation balances for points available according to players. (Those details can be sorted out later.) That way you can have a map with mixed tier ships and players but the kill points will be fairly balanced. This also solves the dying population problem before PvP is gone completely. Also it lets Fleets play team PvP regardless of what ranks their players are, and makes the game a ton of fun because now you have Mirandas and other ships playing in the same match with Intrepids, and they both have a role to play that is important to the outcome of the match.

Nothing, I have given up on PvP for the moment. I started the new character because I had missed so much information with the first one. I was unsure how to redo anything on the first character, so I started all over again. I have not attempted to play PvP with the current character because I see no point in it. I only just found the starbase with the information on PvP and medals and now I am at LTC. I see that the weapons and equipment are different at this starbase. I wish I could locate some equipment without having to get the medals.
Maybe I will drop in on PvP and see if I still get hosed in five seconds.

I guess I have to mark it as 5. I did a regular grind for the covariant cap 3 shield. So that got it up from 3 to 5. I'm not that into it usually. The queues and the way it's set up mechanically drive me away from it. I used to love ground PVP. But the wait times are too long.

I belive this deserves its own topic, but no i do not belive that 3 officer types are equal in terms of how far their abilitys grow... IE eject warp plasma vs. any other commander skill (sci or tac)...
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
NOPE. (maybe if everyone that played wasnt in an escort..) all the cruiser players seem to be noobs (no offense) but like they are just star trek fans happy to talk to others abouth lore and play a little on the side...

ok rsp is kinda overpowered but when coupled with the fact that most of my other boff skills in a cruiser dont add up to me stalemating an escort is lame. i understand that its about set up and gameplay but i have destroyed maybe 5 escorts and they were very easy (as if a player from a diffrent ship type was experimenting..) 2 escorts shouldnt be able to destroy a ship so quickly. it defeats all other 2 party groups.

the over all speed at which pvp occurs is way too fast especially compared to pve. a real match against equal opponets tho will last hours. very annoying either way. there should just be a better way to deal with the selection and cooldown timers for skills. and or more. i also feel the way to test the cooldown timers and other skills is very annoying. you actualy have to take the skill twice and go test it because its not listed anywere which is points and time..

1%, 80%, 19% PUGging is most interesting to me, to meet up with random people in random ship/captain combinations and trying to adapt to the situation and work with them to succeed. Of course that is only when they are actually trying to play, not "I'm just here for dailies! /afk"

With the way PUGs typically work... 50%, 40%, 10%.
Gameplay and Balance:
Do you enjoy playing your chosen class/ship combination(s) in PvP?
- Burst damage is still extremely high. Others have said it elsewhere, but you can go from 100-0 hull way too fast if you are unbuffed.
- Ground combat needs a serious look. With so much emphasis on active buffs there, and virtually nothing in the way of passive defenses outside equipment, you are pretty much only able to increase your offense, while your defense is static.
- Science skills need passive effects, and aux power should get one too. There is far too much inequity here with the skill point spread between escorts, cruisers, and science ships and bang for the buck. And to that point see this thread... http://forums.startrekonline.com/showthread.php?t=166285
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons.
- PVP does need some kind of territory control aspect.
- Something needs to happen to try and bring more low level players into PVP. The queues are very slow and sparse at low levels, to say nothing of the current problems with the queues.
- Cloak detection needs redone, to be much less binary in how it works.

Each ship class needs the others to be truly effective. The solo power of each ship isn't as important as the group playing together with a common objective.

No
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Yes
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
No. Hard to make a case for raptors against the BoP.

Yes. Ensign tac powers & VM aren't worth having

Teams of 5 cloakers vs. 5 cloakers need some way aside from someone acting as bait to detect enemies.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).
PvPers need something to fight over. They can only entertain themselves with player-run tournaments for so long. Whatever the something is, it shouldn't affect PvE'ers at all.
Teams need to be equalized at the start of matches.
Endless firefights between ships of equal power need some way to end the fight. Give someone defending a point on C&H a buff, forcing the offense the outnumber defenders to win or something along those lines to end the endless fights.

Gameplay and Balance:
Do you enjoy playing your chosen class/ship combination(s) in PvP?

There are skills in each class that are very useful (ie required) and each class also has useless skills. Useful skills include Reverse Shield Polarity (ENG), Hazard Emitters (SCI), and the type Tactical skill for the choose weapon system.
Super short answer:
In 18 words or less, what do you WANT out of your PvP experience?
Substance and purpose. Right now all rewards are out of game - meaning human centric rewards like ego boost.

I enjoy playing my Engineer on the Cruiser. I'm not so happy with my Scientist who's currently flying a BOP. I have tried Cruiser and Carrier with him, but was not happy with a Carrier and I already fly a Cruiser with my Engineer
Klingons are in a disadvantage because they can't choose from as many ship types as Feds can
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
I believe that some combinations of BOFF abilities are overpowered on certain ships. Especially now after 2.0, a Scientist has access to CRF3 and THY3 and the Science powers to severely debuff an opponent for an easy kill.

Yes, with 1 major exception(Carrier) and 1 minor exception(Science Vessel).
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed.
1. SNB needs addressing. The ability to strip buffs means that's a guaranteed kill.
2. Tactical captains need something to address their survivability. They are overly 1 dimensional with overkill on the damage buffs. If you are flying an escort or raptor, the last thing you need is that 3rd or 4th damage buff.
3. RSP is too strong a buff with no drawbacks.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).
1. Cloak detection needs addressing. KvK is dead because of this and we have the eventuality of Romulans being a 3rd faction in the future.
2. KvK is still dead, the population is too small.
3. Kerrat is not particularly fun as a Klingon unless all you care about is ambushing Feds. I don't think anyone of us cares for finishing the objectives, often leaving it for the Feds to finish the objectives while we blow them up.
List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons.
Super short answer:

A quick mindless chaotic shoot them up blast of fun.

Let the serious pvpers play with serious pvpers. Non serious pvpers just dilute the fun of serious pvpers and likewise, serious pvpers will probably steamroll non serious pvpers so badly, it kills the pvp game for them.

Hans West, Fed, Alien, LTC, no longer play PvP. Escort.

About how many hours a week do you spend PvPing?
None anymore.
In an ideal world, how much of your PvP time (as %'s) would you LIKE to spend: Solo, PUGing, and in a premade?
In reality, how much of your PVP time (as a %) is ACTUALLY spent in solo/PUG/premade?
None

Do you enjoy playing your chosen class/ship combination(s) in PvP?
None, no
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
No
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
They should not be. I did create a Klingon character and found the ship at the ensign level did better than my escort at Commander Level.
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
Definitely not. I find a lot of uses for skills in the regular game, but not useful in PvP.

My only problem I had in trying PvP with my first character was that I was up against five to seven Klingons and there was only two or three of us. I was hosed by two to three ships.
Super short answer:
In 10 words or less, what do you WANT out of your PvP experience?
In 10 words or less, how can the game be changed to better provide it?
Nothing, I have given up on PvP for the moment. I started the new character because I had missed so much information with the first one. I was unsure how to redo anything on the first character, so I started all over again. I have not attempted to play PvP with the current character because I see no point in it. I only just found the starbase with the information on PvP and medals and now I am at LTC. I see that the weapons and equipment are different at this starbase. I wish I could locate some equipment without having to get the medals.
Maybe I will drop in on PvP and see if I still get hosed in five seconds.

10. I live for the B'Tran. I'm writing a story about it. I have TWO ambassadors now.
I guess I have to mark it as 5. I did a regular grind for the covariant cap 3 shield. So that got it up from 3 to 5. I'm not that into it usually. The queues and the way it's set up mechanically drive me away from it. I used to love ground PVP. But the wait times are too long.
In 1.2, I diligently did my PVP daily every day. Since 2.0, I haven't queued up once for PVP.
0 solo. 50 percent PUG. 50 percent premade.
During my peak PVP gameplay: 0 solo. 90 percent PUG. 10 percent premade.
Currently, 0 solo. 0 PUG. 0 premade. I won't bother with the queues right now.
Yes.
No. But that doesn't mean I think there is an imbalance.
No. Consoles dictate that mechanically they are not equal at all. Importance is far too subjective for me to comment on.
Not at all. Dispersal Pattern is not at all on the same level of impact as Tractor Beam.
Cooldowns.
Organization of shared cooldowns.
Energy Consumption rate.
Bah. QUEUES! Ok ... other than those ...
The maps.
Open PVP areas.
Ground PVP ... it doesn't work because the wait times are too long even when PVP queues are fixed and lively.
Rewards. Especially since VA locks people out of getting the Mk X stuff that made PVP so worth doing in the first place.
Ground PVP. It needs to be made more worthwhile to do.
Fun.
Open PVP areas. Always open PVP areas.
One would have to have been able to get into a PVP match. And since I gave up trying due to what they did to queues on Tribble ... I have no idea.
List the names, levels, and career/ship type of the characters you actively PvP with. Are any of them in "PvP Fleets"?

About how many hours a week do you spend PvPing?
5-10 but only because i find that its under rewarding. i would normally put in about 30-40 hours a week

no cruisers are not able to be more than an inocent bystanderd that gets hit with a "drive by" tank round...
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
I belive this deserves its own topic, but no i do not belive that 3 officer types are equal in terms of how far their abilitys grow... IE eject warp plasma vs. any other commander skill (sci or tac)...
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
NOPE. (maybe if everyone that played wasnt in an escort..) all the cruiser players seem to be noobs (no offense) but like they are just star trek fans happy to talk to others abouth lore and play a little on the side...
In general, do you believe that all BOFF abilities are relatively equal in power and importance, when used in an appropriate overall build? Please list notable exceptions.
ok rsp is kinda overpowered but when coupled with the fact that most of my other boff skills in a cruiser dont add up to me stalemating an escort is lame. i understand that its about set up and gameplay but i have destroyed maybe 5 escorts and they were very easy (as if a player from a diffrent ship type was experimenting..) 2 escorts shouldnt be able to destroy a ship so quickly. it defeats all other 2 party groups.

-more of a feeling that i am (as the begining movie states) the glaexys savior...
-a time limit on the matches please for the love of god.
List up to three long-term issues (balance or otherwise) that you think need to be addressed over the next few seasons.
-maybe the ability to cutomize your purple rewawrds with the bonuses you want (ie. damage, acc, crit hit/severity, etc...)
-rewards other than just gear

Super short answer:
In 10 words or less, what do you WANT out of your PvP experience?
fun making actual rivals, that i see again..
In 10 words or less, how can the game be changed to better provide it?
better "balance". flushed out captain abilities/boff's.
For fun:
eject worp core bomb detonates then AoE dmg and slow... FUN ideas just take it the last few steps of the way i bought this game knowing the crit reviews and still got the life sub... its a great game just needs to see fruition. more developers.... (free volunteers that care about the game maybe...
If you could use any combination of ships and captains you wanted, what would your ultimate Tournament 5v5 team setup be?
in the perfect world... or in this world?
5 tac/escorts (current)
perfect world? 2 sci/sci, 2 eng/cruiser, 1 tac/cruiser. this only works if abilitys work the way i feel alot of us invisioned them being...gravity well 3.... cough cough
Late additions:
How do you feel about the pace of PvP space combat in Season 2?
the over all speed at which pvp occurs is way too fast especially compared to pve. a real match against equal opponets tho will last hours. very annoying either way. there should just be a better way to deal with the selection and cooldown timers for skills. and or more. i also feel the way to test the cooldown timers and other skills is very annoying. you actualy have to take the skill twice and go test it because its not listed anywere which is points and time..
thanks again e. great h resposes already (turnout..)

well that carrier just suck, and with my tac i think its just fine
In general, do you believe the three CAPTAIN types (Tactical, Engineering, Science) are relatively equal in power and importance?
Yes in general, but a team with out a sci is pretty much a loosing team, where as a team full of sci players dont have that additional dmg and survivability that comes from the other classes.
In general, do you believe the SHIP types (Cruiser, Carrier, and so on...) are relatively equal in power and importance?
No not at all Cruiser, bop,raptor/escort*, scienceship >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> carrier in usebility.

RSP Is by far the most important skill in the game.
List up to three PvP balance issues that you believe need to be addressed.
RSP, SnB lately its thise two that wins or brake a game, and all the healing skills need to be looked at imo.
List up to three non-balance PvP issues that you believe need to be addressed (excluding the queue failures that are currently occurring on Holodeck).
Scipowers that are anytype of cc/disable in general need more oomph.. healing need abit of a downtune.. and I would wanna see speedtanking as a viable option.

OPEN PVP
Super short answer:
In 10 words or less, what do you WANT out of your PvP experience?
competition, fun, kinda relaxed pvp, and explosions
In 10 words or less, how can the game be changed to better provide it?
Well change skills like ET3 is now the best heal, change ET2 so it have less cd and less gcd so we can use other skills then the "best" ones.
