Is Shield Healing Broken on Halodeck?

On Tribble it kind of became clear that shield healing was too high in the totals - ie broken, and Cryptic tweaked it down a bit. I think it is broken on Halodeck and still way too high, but only noticed it right before my Klingon made Lt General. So I decided to level my Fed and test.

This is me (Galrahn), in my Advanced Escort during one of those PUG FvF Salvage games. Take note of my skills - the only hull heal I have is Hazard Emitters II. Everything else is two copies of Emergency to Shields I, 1 RSP, Rotate Shield Frequency, Miracle Worker, and 1 SciTeam I - making HE II and SciTeam I the only skills that can actually heal someone besides myself.

I don't think self healing shields should be counted in the healing totals, but I figured I'd ask you guys what you think. I think there is a specific problem with Emergency Power to Shields and potentially Rotate Shield Frequency adding to healing totals, because it is the only thing that possibly makes sense for such high healing numbers on an escort.

I know there are tools to do combat logs in STO - I just haven't ever taken them seriously before. Can someone point me in the right direction so I can break this down better in testing?

I remember someone writing a combat log parser for STO. Don*t remeber right now what it was called, but google might be helpful.

BTW - the server is called Holodeck. Like the recreation facility on a 24th century Starfleet cruiser.:D

Healing scores are pretty ridiculous at the moment, I expect that to be because of RSP. It seems like all the damage you take during RSP is converted into healing for yourself, which skews the end result so much it becomes invalid.

That's what I think at least, it's quite possible that I'm wrong, but I don't think so :p

I'm not sure if RSP is counting or not but something is off. Finally got a 5v5 and watched the healing numbers grow and grow until it was 400k+. The match was 10-15 minutes and ended with 490k dmg and 425k healing.for me. Damage numbers are ok same as pre season 2 but 425k healing in an Escort doesn't make sense. Top damage and top healing in a match with 3 intrepids 2 escorts on my side and 2 cruiser, 1 intrepid, 2 defiants on the other. Numbers are not being calculated correctly or something because I'm good but not that good.

I'm guessing RSP and EPtS are factored into that number. It's probably counting any form of shield heal as a heal. And using RSP while being attacked by more than 1 person would probably lead to some epic "healing" results.

I've ended up with the top heals SO many times recently in my Intrepid Refit, and all I run is 2 copies of HE 1, TSS 2, and SciTeam 2.

Yes, the healing number totals are broken...but there's not much about this new patch that seems to be working right. Saucer separation locking, broken PvP queue, broken healing totals, glitched powers (not to be named so as to only further the abuse), loot drops, fleet actions sticking in certain phases, etc...

    Hm.

Maybe I'm just lucky then, the only thing that hasn't "worked" for me is the new Undine Fleet Action :D

Don't count yourself in that group of "lucky individuals" just yet...as long as you queue for any PvP queue you are subject to the garbage system Cryptic employed there. As long as you play in any PvP game you're affected by the borked healing stats as it is integrated into the game system and affects all participants. It's amazing that Cryptic went above and beyond this time to create a patch that doesn't single out any one group for anal rapage but equally spreads the sausage around to a large number of the player constituent base... ;)

As my fleet mate HunterOdin has pointed out try STOICs (thanks Odin).
New is the addition of a real installer, so it's even easier to get STOICs up and going
(added that yesterday, should have done it a long time ago, hah).
