First impression was puzzlement that a IP with a vast array of classic immersion sensor sounds throughout has its IP flagship game using something non immersive to the IP?!?
Sure the minigame sounds are futuristic but it should be even
more immersive and cooler having the Star Trek ship sensor scan sounds used instead. Even better if different sounds from the films and shows for each type of anomoly! Haha NOW that would be cool!

As for what you get at the end of a successful scan...definitely needs work, I see no real difference between failing a scan and completing one rewards wise, occasionally a bone is thrown your way and your rewarded appropriately for a successful analysis but tbh it feels broke atm.
Great minigame concept, even better if it had more variety in the minigame, again different objectives to meet for different anomoly types would make it more interesting and not so ho hum repetitive.

I like the scanning aspect too, it's going in the right direction to make it more Star Trek immersive but there is definite room for improvement and an opportunity not to miss capitalising on a classic feature of the star trek ip.
Anyway, I still haven't figured out what the blue things are for. I heard memory alpha, but I got completely distracted by diplomacy quests there and could not find anyone who wanted the rare resource thingies. Where do we take those?
Problem with that approach is that they're not stackable items.
Could use more "Trek" sounds as suggested by the OP.
The implementation is shoddy and an insul,t to crafters.
I can't get any samples that arent newbie samples when I scan in-system, I can only get higher tier samples when flying in sector (nebula) space.
This has ruined the game for me. I simply cannot get anything other than high end or very lkow end samples.
I agree that the sounds used are pathetic when compared to the hundreds of sounds that could have been used from 11 movies and six television shows (yes I count the animated series as canon)
I feel that this game should have not been placed on Holodeck without being corrected. Why else did we test it on tribble? What good is testing on tribble if the broken features are stuffed in our stocking anyway?
I normally am not a person to slam people, and I have defended Cryptic to many people for many reason.....but I simply cannot defend this horrible decision to break the game and ignore whats broken for several days.
Anomalies needs to be fixed immediately and before anything else.
Nuff Said!
I like the concept, and I can somewhat forgive the sounds.
But why am I collecting samples for Mk II crafting? And if I am, at Admiral levels, shouldn't I be eeking out 20 samples instead of 5?
The results for scanning really need a fix.
