transporter room Idea

I am making a new discussion post this time without the developers name. The name of the thread has been changed as requested by several people in a previous thread.

maybe in a future patch or update could we maybe when we beam up to our ship and onto our ship to walk around could we maybe transport in onto the transporter pad instead of onto the main bridge even when we invite people onto our ship? I believe it would make it more trek like. Just a suggestion. Anyone else think this is a good idea? let's discuss it.

Let's get a good thick discussion going on this.

I agree, we should beam into the Transporter room, like we do for SB39, MA, and K7. And to invite other players, you have to use the Transporter console than the button on the side.

Also, would be nice if the transporter room was enlarged to be more true to Trek, with the access panels for the transporter buffers. Right now the Transporter room is like a closet.

I could completely live with the size of the transporter room if it had some type of functionality.

A good example would be as a staging area for away team missions.

When you start a ground mission there could be an animation where you and your team are on the pad and transport down together....which would be a simple addition to add a little extra asthetically.

Or you could begin every away team mission on your bridge and select your team from there. Then cut to the pad beam down animation... This would be a bit more involved and add a bit more to the gameplay without having to actually run through your ship with your away team to get to the pad.

    ^^^^ all of the above

but we need options to be able to skip for those players who don't want the depth that this would bring in to the game.

I do not want to have to run from the transporter room to the bridge every time I go back to my ship. If this idea is even given a MOMENT'S consideration, it needs to be done by having the player hold some special key down while hitting the transport button, so that they alone are the ones that would need to do this.

I'd like for this to still seem like a game a little bit and not like Second Star Trek Life... just my two cents.

Perhaps the ability to select the point of entrance would be good.

This is going to cause some heated discussions I think :). Personally I would prefer this as long as the transporter room was just around the corner through a door. I realy don't want to run to the Transporter Room if it's to far away. The same could be applied to Earth Space Dock :). I think this would add to the emersion of the game.

Beam invited players to the transporter room. That's all I'd like to see because I agree, that this would add a lot of Star Trek Feeeling to the game, when I invite people to my ship and I pick them up there.

Btw. inviting more than 1 group would be nice as well. I think about fleet meetings in our flagships lounge, etc.

That would be really Trek indeed.
