In all seriousness, people really should learn to "enhance their calm." This whole "I want it NOW!!!" mentality is precisely why I avoid most MMOs.

I came across a bugged mission yesterday. Instead of coming on here and going nuts, I simply filed a bug report. I'm sure I can finish the mission later.

And so the cycle continues. Like a lion to the kill the MMO players eats up all of the new content faster then they can make it. This cycle will continue on for ever no matter what game it is, because there will never be enough content made. granted an expansion helps but that is only a short term fix before the MMO player is out of content. But that is natures way.

FYI yes you are meant to grind welcome to MMOs.

The point I'm angry about is that I have to use old content to level. The new episode are amazing and fun and then........ (Watches are the tumbleweed rolls by.) nothing. They had an amazing story arch and just stopped it dead. Now I have to do Btran, Fleet actions and such to level to get the new content they added all at the top end? TRIBBLE that, I stopped playing because I got sick of that old content, which is the same thing over and over again. I want to slam my head against a concrete wall it would less painful then leveling that way. :(

Leveling is meant to be fun, not tendious with out new content to get people to 51 the tediousness during leveling is just not worth it. I have to got through 5 levels of not fun to get to the fun? There is something wrong with that.

    Not really, shocking right?

I mean they should of not listened to those that wanted this out on tuesday and let it roll for another week at least to get more of the bugs out. I dont usually post this but dam, I get rubberbanding like crazy now on holodeck and to be honest i havent had any since launch. Missions are sooo buggy now and things are just a mess.. Its shocking a company would chuck this to its PAYING customers.

Yep i should of posted this thread along time ago like someone asked of me :)

I agree. The rubberbanding is terrible.

And, you can't even do the new Klingon quests. The first one is bugged and wont finish.

If the place where I work put something like this out, we would be out of business.

I love this game...but am starting to have second thoughts.

Im suprised at rubberbandding accusations being thrown at cryptics feet. Im literally halfway around the world from the states, or 1/3 from europe. If i dont have rubberbanding...

Yes, so it is a fault of people who could play fine prior to 2.0 and now got server not responding, rubbebanding and disconnection? Interesting, yet I fail to see a logic here...

I didnt actually specify anything. Im just saying there's more than one reason for rubberbanding.

That i dont rubberband is still a fact.

And if it worked before and doesnt now, and its their servers, then it cannot have been anything about the patch. Network isnt affected. Probably just the high traffic now that its out.

Pray tell, how are they supposed to prevent high traffic?

    Well lets me say this...

    ready?

    Buy more servers.

Pretty much solves there server instability problems right there :)

At first I thought it was funny when I tried to walk up to the NPC to pick up a mission and then get thrown back repeatedly to where I was standing previously, lol. But then it started getting annoying..

U dont really have a good grasp of the cost and maintenance of servers do you? The kind they use for MMOs.

And its cost in hardware and programming both. And linking new ones to exisiting ones, with the metastate that is STO on it, is also not easy.

If only it were that easy, my company wouldnt still be waiting on our new server banks for...oh....3 months now....

And for emphasis, its COSTLY. VERY.

When i said costly, i meant on the level that you'll need significant investment. Not the small kind that will let you hire more interns or something.

Fine so the game is rotting. Go and bail. Go to WoW or something, they dont have microtransactions. Oh wait, they do. Sorry, bad example.

To answer a few of the complaints... here's some details

yes there is lag and rubberbanding and we are actively looking into fixing it. We made 1 patch last night to address it and will have another shortly. It will go back to smooth quickly.

As far as Season 2 content - a chunk of the content we made for Season 2 is coming in the Weekly Episodes that are starting up soon... and since they can be played at any level - they are specifically designed to help create content where there are gaps and allow for players to have more to do to get to their next level goal.

There are also a lot of bugs in the game that the team is actively working to address and we will be aggressively putting out fixes before we tackle any huge new features.

So I hear you... changes are being made and we are addressing the issues.

There is? I thought that's how most things work, both in MMOs and real life.
