Cryptic, what have you done to the PvP Queues?

I know that tact and politeness are the best way to discuss things with you guys but you've screwed up PvP queues big time. I'll queue up, watch it slowly fill up, click engage and after a few seconds later, nothing. It'll exit and reset with the message:
The queue Wargames (FvF) - Arena - Space - Cracked Planetoid that you were offered couldn't start because not enough members accepted their offers.
And then I'll just sit there waiting for it to refill again, hoping that no one clicks cancel. And even worse, you'll click accept, 30 seconds will pass and it'll just get stuck on 0 for a while before kicking you back out. If you wanted a way to kill PvP, this is it. When will the old system be back?

I was thinking about trying out the Klingon side because of the new content, but it looks like I won't get very far if PVP isn't working.

One topic in the release notes is that Kerratt is Open PVP to all players now.

I went in there today, and there was a Klingon and a Fed going at it. The Fed disappeared, and I approached to engage the Klingon, and they split the scene.

It does seem that Constant PVP is not desired by all.

Pretty simple, what you're seeing here is the result of people not accepting the queue when it comes up. Previously, it would start a game anyway, with less than the minimum. Frequently this meant that one side had less players than the other.

Now you should have at least the minimum on both sides when it does start. the problem is people ignoring the queue when it comes up, not the queue system itself.

So maybe instead of changing it back so you can 5v3 the feds into submission there should be some sort of penalty for failing to accept a queue?

Way of doiong this would be a 3 min penalty for the first offense, 30 min penalty for the second, and 3rd is banned form pvp for the day. Harsh yes. But will force the people not to just sit and wait. Alternatively maybe a 5 min cooldown counter if you fail to accept.

I do however, as a dad of young kids, understand that I need to go take care of RL issues (i.e. kid stacking chairs up and says 'watch me fly dad!' - sorry STO goes in the ditch fer my kiddos). Also previously you'd sit in queue for houtrs then it'd pop up... which meant I might have forgot and gone off to the bathroom or something when it happens.

Not like i want to defend those people not accepting in time.. but considering in the ground queue it takes even in primetime up to a hour to even get 10 people queued at all for one map (and outside primetime/on some other tiers sometimes even 2-3 *hours*) i can see how easily someone can miss a 30 second popup.

That beeing said, the queue change have killed the ground game completely now. A whole evening of waiting (in prime time) in the ra/bg queue yielded 2 (!) games in total and probably around 8-10 failed game starts so far.

Whoever designed that TRIBBLE needs a reality check badly. I rather play outnumbered and lose some or have the queue turn the games to 1on1 or 2on2 games then have no games all evening..

Well there are alot of reasons ground pvp blows.

I did it once at a low level. Once. That is it. Reason being it was so BS that Feds got Tribble buffs as liuetenants with any tribble and us klings got hit with sniper shots in the range of multiple 'K'. So basically we all jsut said 'f-it' and suicided out. In fact we stopped even moving. I think I went and had a cigarette then would come back every min or so and respawn then walk off again. On the exit screen think one person even replied "(f-bomb) you" to the feds on the way out for good job comments.

Space is ruled by the Klings... so the Feds can have the ground. After all, we can just nuke it from orbit :)

On all my KDF aliens tribbles work without issue and its not like the tribble buff makes any noticeable difference in ground pvp on any tier anyway. Neither is there any noticeable equipment advantage for the feds. Different to space - on ground both sides have access to the exact same stuff (with the exception of some race traits).
Space is ruled by the Klings... so the Feds can have the ground.
Thats not even the case, the feds don't have the ground. In my opinion games on ground are won by the side that has the higher amount of experienced ground players in a game and since a lot of ground veterans have toons on both sides the amount of good player on a side fluctuates between games.

The ground community is quite a bit smaller then the space community, however i know quite a few people (like me) that play ground everyday and really enjoy it, so we need that queue working.

Sorry to hijack your topic OP but I was curious. Do VA and RA and LA all join the same tier in PVP or is it setup so one only for VA? For example all captains together then when you hit RA all RA's together?

Yeah, our team has had around 20-30 pops in T5, and so far 1 actual PvP match out of all of that. Couple that with Ker'Rat randomly resetting, and methinks PvP queues and dailies got a little messed up with 2.0.

this is easy to fix. when it starts if 3 klinks accept and 5 feds do, then allow the first 3 feds to accept in and give the last two a polite note that they will stay queued..

    problem solved.

another reason some are not clicking in is because they are already IN a pvp match, remember you can choose 3 Ques to sit in......and it seems that once again the stupid Que system cant figure out that some poeple are already in a match and thus CANT click in.

I mean an 12 year old could come up with a better system than this....................

Ok so we just had a team of five players queued. The queue popped, we all clicked accept and it rolled over into a new queue pop. We all clicked accept, joined the map and only four of us got in. One of us had been dropped.

What's the point of queuing as a team if it's just going to randomly drop players out?

2 games total within 7 hours of queue for ground pvp and countless popups. This needs a fix asap.

Ok, not to keep ragging on this but new TRIBBLE keeps happening. We had five in the queue. It kept popping, resetting, did it a couple of times. Then it pops for only one of us who takes it and it puts him in a mission. Then it pops for the rest of us and splits us up on separate sides with them auto kicked from the team. Here's the weird part. Anyone who typed in team chat who was in the same team as the former leader (my team) would have their team chat read by the former members of the team, on the other side. But any team chat they wrote would stay on their side.

Please just put it back the way it was.

We had a meeting late tonight discuss options to clean up the queues. There are just too many and now with the added restrictions to add "balance" it makes it even harder to start a match.

We'll be jumping on this quickly.

Glad to know this will be fixed soon.

I don't know if it has anything to do with it but...

In busy areas like ESD I had no success in getting into games. When I left I got into PvP games easily. Maybe it's just by chance.
