If you have not heard the news the Refits are on the C-store, but you can unlock the refits ships three ways. In the game with a token, In the game with emblems, or In the C-store for 15 dollars. So I was wondering, is that what we can expect for the Nebula, and the Excelsior? Are they going to be refits, and if so will the token cover the ship?
So the question is
How do you the player feel about the refits on the C-store?
Is 15 dollars a fair price for those ships?
Do you think they are worth it?
What about he excelsior, and the nebula should they be this price?
should you be able to get one of the ships with a token?
and How does this sit with you?
please leave your feedback, and comments.
Also Dstahl if you, or any of the mod are reading this I have one major question that NEEDS to be answered before it is to late. My question is.
Are you thinking about giving out the Excelsior, and the Nebula with a Refit token?
( I ask this because I fear that people will not take it well, if they spent their refit token, and then found out they could get the ship with that. )
EDIT Thanks for the update
before things get too out of hand... here's what I know.
The Excelsior and Nebula (as far as I know) are not slated to be exclusive to Level 51 which means that they will most likely not be purchasable with the Level 51 rank up token.
These ships may be available starting as early as T3... and then have a T5 Refit version as well.
If we do implement an alternative way to get them in game it will most likely be for some sort of Mark or Emblem and not with a rank up token.
That is the current plan...I'll update if it is decided otherwise.

I do suggest reading the FAQ first though.
Woah buddy
Oh I understand that, and I'm fine with it. I want to see how other people feel about it. ( personally I like the Emblems )
I know that, and you know that, but try telling that to half the community. ( just look at on the history. look at the pre-orders going to the C-store, and the Galaxy-x. )
Since you can get them for free by doing what you would be doing anyways, I have even less issues with this than i had with the GalaxyX.
If they do the same with the new ships that is also fine with me... But then again, if they did the same as they did with the GalX I would be fine too, because you dont need them to play.
YOU SHOULD BE SORRY:D:D I'm kidding we all have done at some point in time.
So what you buy now will be useless again
and on a side note as klingon DONT USE UR TOKEN YET unless yuu plan to buy the retrofit klingon ships in the CSTORE:..
The question is not is it fair. But is this what we can expect with the Nebula, and the Excelsior? Will we be able to buy them with refit tokens? Also how does this sit with the community?
I get it
TBH no matter what, I think anything will upset any half... To me it seems that no matter what cryptic does it will never be good enough.
No ranting intended, but that is just the expirience i've had so far.
About the Buyers-Beware comment, hopefully with more communication from Cryptic, and perhaps some BIG LETTER warnings, people will be able to avoid mistakenly purchasing things they can get in-game without paying more than their monthly fees.
The $15 is strictly for the impatient... And there's nothing you'd NEED all three for.
The C-Store has its issues but as a tax for impatience, it doesn't bug me. Not that different from fantasy games where you can pay to unlock ALL basic hunter pets rather than track them down.
All you're paying for here is a convenience. That's right in line with what I see the C-Store as being good for.

I understand that. My is a feedback finding thread. personally I don't care about the refits being on there. I think it is a good idea to give us options, but I worry about them not telling us everything when it comes to the excelsior, and nebula.
They need to give out more information on the tokens. If the Excelsior, and Nebula come out, and you are able to get them with the tokens then some people are going to be mad because they already spent their token. sure you can get them in the game, but ( and I could be wrong, this is just what I heard in a thread in the tribble section ) If I understood right the amount of time it takes to grind 500 emblems around 53 days. As for the mad people as always they will blame cryptic.
It is better if Cryptic comes out with it instead of taking the risk of making any players mad, and losing them.
Any idea of a time frame we can expect to see them in-game?
Personally, I'd like to see the Nebula and the Excelsior use a different currency so you can grind them while grinding your spare refits.
The nice thing about the paid unlock is that it unlocks it for all characters on an account.
Dude... You are really THE best executive producer of a game i've ever seen... No where have any of the executive producers of the previous games i've played been this active in the community with replies.
They gave us solid T5 starships with two variants per each "role", and now we're getting vanity starships that have slightly different gameplay mechanics but are not overpowered in comparison to the normal T5 ships, and we still have the option of obtaining all ships for all Vice Admirals as long as we're willing to put either our Time, or our Money where our imagination requires us to be. It's a win-win as far as I can see.
Thank you that is the big question, and that will help avoid any misunderstandings.
( now I need to go grind and get myself a cloaking defiant.
i still wount touch the KARFI carrier as a klingon...
I have to disagree with the money grab part. You can get it in the game. I do think it is a little steep, and they priced it to high.
If people are willing to pay $25 for the Galaxy X (which they clearly were) then we have no one to blame but ourselves for high prices on canon ship costumes.
