Patching

I've been patching since early this morning. It was at 91% a few minutes ago. My internet connection went down for less then 2 minutes but the launcher closed itself and when I relaunched it, it started over at the very beginning...6.9% now.

Anything else obvious to add? It's patch day of course it's down, it being down has nothing to do with the patcher NOT auto-resuming the download.

I thought I was doing great, I'd only been patching for 4 hours and was at 91%. Now it's repatching AGAIN but it seems slower. Or maybe I'm just upset about it and it just seems slower.

It really sucks, especially with a patch that big.

Ivebeen patching for 2 days (havent even played this game yet) patch started at 2700 meg and i downloaded 80 % before it crashed. When i reconnected it went to 0 % but the remaining download showed is 600 meg so maybe we havent lost it all. Either way its pretty frustrating. Taken me a week of downloading and i still havent even seen the game

The Season 2 patch hasn't even been out for two days, it just came out today on Holodeck.

I am having a similar issue.. its taking forever to get this patch and it crashed out once and restarted. When it restarted the file size was about half of what it was when it first started, so i think it took into account what i had already downloaded. still taking all night..

Mine finally finished around 6:30pm(cdt), took about 5 hours so my dl speed was about the same, I took off and did other things since I've got better things to do then watch a progress bar crawl across the screen.

I've barely scratched the surface but I like the changes I've seen so far.

The patcher definitely needs some work though. No auto-resume (or broken auto-resume) is a huge pain with huge patches, I consider myself fortunate that I only had the one crash, but shortly after that crash I exited the patcher myself and restarted it and it started from scratch again (I was at 12% when I closed it out).

The reason I did that is because another game I play I occasionally have a similar problem with the patcher but exiting it and restarting it fixes whatever was the problem and it picked back up where it left off ( and a couple of times it tried to patch me when I was already patched) but otherwise I usually don't have problems with patchers from the various MMO's I've played.

The patcher restarts at 0 % but that is only 0% of what is remaining to download.
The patcher looks at what was downloaded when you start it and continues with the rest of the files needed.

Patch also uses port 7255 so if theirs a problem on that port then the patching will be slower. Sometime using the launcher option to patch by proxy works better.

Nice info about the port but it didn't "Look" like 0%, it was 0% with the 0/2+Gb to download and it took the full amount of time to download that it took for me to get to that 91% to begin with. I think after 12 years of playing MMO's and patching I know the difference between auto-resume and starting over. The damn thing started over. Period.

If it had done like most patchers with auto-resume then it would have scanned those files already present at a fast pace, verified them and resumed but it did not. It started at 0 and did it's downloading all over again. I, however, have no doubt that the files that it originally downloaded were present on my computer but the patcher would not recognize them or the stupid thing scanned and verified each file at D/L speed (nice trick that) instead of hard disk speed, Either way the end result was the same, it took me 10 hours instead of the original 5 hours or less it would have been to patch because it restarted at 0 with 0/2.3Gb remaining. From the other posts, I would say they are or were having the same problem, the patcher crashed during download and would not auto-resume where it left off afterwords.

Though I did not get to 90%, spending a couple hours only to get to almost 50%, losing my internet connection for about a minute, getting dropped and having to start over is not fun.

Does anyone have a torrent up for this update?
