So, once you reach the latest level cap, which ship will you be flying?
Personally, I'm sticking with the Assault Cruiser and Galaxy-X.
If I was forced to choose a retrofit, I'd pick the Defiant-R. Having played with the Galaxy-R, I found the saucer separation ability to offer very little (since I broadside, mobility was never a problem). The Intrepid-R's ablative armour is very nice, but probably works best in conjunction with a sci officer.
Reminds me, if I do get a Defiant-R, must train an officer in Target Aux III.
I'll try out the Galaxy with saucer sep, but I've been watching the update thread for the Sovereign keenly, so that will be the first ship I try. I really like the Sovereign.
My old favorite. The U.S.S. Arizona-C
Ship class with over 230 yeas of bashing the enemy. I ain't givin her up. She beats the TRIBBLE outta Borg, given the time to do so, and I like that.
I have no intentions of going back to my other ship unless its for PvP or STF and then it will be my assault cruiser Arizona-F
My tac admiral will probably switch to the defiant-r, I love my prometheus but the defiant has a special place in my heart. My engineer, well she has a long way to go yet to hit admiral so we shall see the state of the game then, but either a sovereign or galaxy-r
Interesting point. I still don't know what the Nebula or Excelsior refits have in terms of ship systems or stations layouts. I like the Nebula, but I hope cryptic doesn't make a whole new end tier for them. That would make it so that cruiser captains must choose between:
assault
star
Sci cruiser (nebula?)
lol-I'm-over-100-years-old-sonny-but-I-can-still-kick-TRIBBLE! cruiser (excelsior)
exploration refit
Wish they would just consolidate every cruiser type to "Admiral's cruiser" or some other (more fitting) title.
The Galaxy and Intrepid-class are both tempting to have both for the novelty of their new powers and their updated models... but my ship is a Luna-class recon science vessel. I'm not comfortable with the thought of changing that, even though I really don't like the ensign tactical station.
Hopefully, CapnLogan will swing back and address the many visual issues the Luna-class has in time.
I don't know, but I can tell you which ships I *want* my three main Fed captains to fly, regardless of their ranks:
Science: Intrepid Class
Engineering: Constitution Class Refit
Tactical: T3 kit-bashed Heavy Cruiser
Sorry to (have to) keep harping on about it, but that's what I want: one special ship for each of my captains and their crews, one ship that is their HOME throughout the course of their 'ongoing mission' - just like what we saw on all the Star Trek TV series (even DS9 had the Defiant).
At this point I am unsure what my engineer will be flying, I felt during my testing on tribble that I had finally gotten a handle on the galaxy x, knowing what I could do with it, how it would handle etc...though the saucer sep is very very tempting just because it does what it does.
My tac will be switching from a fleet escort to a defiant r.
And my sci I am still undecided if I will stick with my Comet or if I will go Intrepid R.
My two klingons...
My tac will stay in his raptor for sure.
And my engineer is undecided on if I will stick with the cruiser or if I will switch to a carrier of one kind or the other, I kinda dig the suicidal fighters from the new one.
Assuming I get to level 51 (Captain is still the furthest I've gone), I'm going to go for the Defiant Refit. I really dislike the look of the advanced escorts and while I do like the fleet ones better, not as much as the Defiant.
Sovereign Class for Patrol Duty. Galaxy Class for Diplomatic Missions.
I doubt I will ever use anything else for my main. Even if another tier or 5 tiers of ships came out, I have no intention of ever changing my ship again. Sovereign Class until the day I retire.
I will fly the new intrepid for a bit because the Janeway-mobile armor is cool looking, then I'll go right back to my Gryphon class. And I *will* like it.
I will be in my sovreign... quite frankly i think it is disgusting how cryptic is making us pay a monthly fee and then expecting us to pay to have a ship... as it stands now all i have to look forward to is grinding to 51 then no new ship... great
* Earn the Slip Space high speed sector space propulsion ability * Unlock access to new refit ships (Federation) or a captured Fekihri ship (Klingon)
* Access to a whole new tier of Mark XI loot and items
* With the newly earned skill points, players can now more completely fill out their higher tier skills
* Unlock Vice Admiral Daily Missions: PvP, Exploration, Special Task Force, Fleet Action
You don't have to pay a dime to get the refit intrepid, galaxy or defiant.
If the Galaxy has a faster turning speed I will go back and get one. If not I will probably stay with my Hermes hybrid fleet escort. The USS Slayer.

The refit ships are free. you also get a free ship token when you hit Upper Half

Correction, you get to pick ONE free refit Ship, after that you have to pay up 500 tokens or pay 1,200CP on the C-Store for each one... each ship you unlock is unlocked for every VA1 Captain you gain...

why would you want more than one?
as I say to other people who want to spend money, "that's on you."

As a Klingon player my answer would be: I'll fly the same ship I was flying at the previous level cap.
My other admiral will be switching from a DSSV to an Intrepid Retrofit.
My klingon ... will wait. Patiently. For a Nausicaan ship. Or a retrofit. He'll know more by the end of August.

So will many Federation players.:) I will fly an advanced escort.

I will stick with my Fleet Escort for solo PVE missions.
I will use the Constitution Class (Enterprise) for Diplomatic missions.
I haven't decided exactly which ship I will use for PVP. I'm a TAC / Escort and I'm leaning towards going with the Advanced Escort for PVP.
Hopefully, CapnLogan will swing back and address the many visual issues the Luna-class has in time.

since the Carrier is not worth Jack.... its just a flying death trap built to send Klingon Warriors to Stovokor

Some make it a goal in game to collect all the Ships, but atleast there is away to gain these other ships ingame and not only from the C-Store...
Gaining 3 tokens per a dayly will take time however, since you have to outfit your ship and crew with Equipment First...
Unless a new tier of ships is introduced, I'll be sticking with my star cruiser.
