I am Gishank & I come to the forums today to get some help with an error which is preventing me from registering to play the trial version of the game.
Now, I bet alot of you are proberbly thinking why don't I simply buy it, it's a great game... However, I have heard alot of varied reviews and admittedly I am here moreso because I am attracted by the game itself rather than the Star Trek branding, thus I wish to try the game before I commit my hard-earned cash to it.
Now, I went to the trial page and registered a Cryptic account, followed by downloading the demo via the Steam-link provided. Now, I click manage account in steam and it takes me to the cryptic site attempting to register the trial subscription to my Cryptic account, I in turn recieve the error "Your account does not qualify for the demo"... Now there is nothing on the demo/trial page stating any regional restrictions and as far as I am aware Steam wouldn't allow me to access something that wouldn't be available in my reason.
Anyone have any thoughts? (I'm from the UK)
PS;
I haven't been able to submit a ticket, for some reason the system doesn't seem to allow me past selecting a sub-category for the ticket.. Tried in both IE and Firefox..
you can not do a trial if you have previous applied a buddy key or refer a friend key. only one type is allowed per account.(or if you had previously had a retail key applied)
Also, as I thought I had already made clear in my first post. This is a fresh account - I have never played or had any other account for Star Trek online. I wish to try before I commit my cash.
do not use the link from steam as you may have gotton the one for the beta trials and are no longer active. you do not need a key to play the demo but you do need to set the account up as a demo account which the post above link does.
