I would make sure of 3 things... You have Internet Explorer updated. You have Java Installed, and Adobe Flash Player. All free downloads.

I would also make sure Windows 7 is completely updated. Everything else should be good. I've got it running on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without any issues.

Don't need Java nor Flash to play the game. Do need IE to operate the launcher, though wouldn't matter if you installed Windows 7 since it should come with IE8 anyways, which'll run the launcher without any updates in the first place. I place my bet on flaming walls, or some other shoddy windows 7 security issue.

I added an option in the launcher, -ignorex64check in the advanced command line box of the options.

Make sure the game was installed in the users\public\games directory. Windows 7 has issues with permissions in the program files directory that will prevent the game from working properly.

There are 2 IEs in Win7. The 32 Bit and 64 Bit. The 64 bit version is still wonky with parts of the internet and you shouldnt use it.

And the Cryptic launcher only ever uses the "32-bit" version, so that doesn't really matter.
