Dev's: Are there plans to streamline the galaxy map?

What I mean is, when I was on tribble I checked out the new federation sectors open to the federation, but it doesn't make sense to me to go to eta eridani to get to the new sector above cardassian space.

Is there a plan in the future when the map gets filled out to make it seem more coherant. At the moment theres what appear to be random lines going everywhere.

I'm not sure what you mean. The new galaxy map is fairly straight-forward.

The line from Eta Eridani is for KDF players since they don't necessarily want a bunch of KDF player ships traveling through the Sirius Sector Block and the Beta Ursae sector block. There is a path for Fed players just north of Cardassia Sector for Deferi sector block that is adjacent, just not open right now on tribble.

Still for KDF players, you have a bit of a point since it connects Eta Eridani to Deferi Sector block with a line that bypasses other sector blocks giving it the impression that it's all sort stitched together.

I dunno... maybe a Transwarp Gate might be a solution for KDF players? or maybe let KDF players travel through Cardassian space with a neutral flag to get the Cardassian sector and head North to Deferi space. Kind of fits the history with Klingon aggressiveness against the Cardassians.

If you put the sectors together you can see that it doesn't make much sense. The bottom-right of Orellius (the new sector) connects to Eta Eridani sector. The bottom of it connects to the Beta Ursae sector. The top of the Oreliius sector overlaps with the empty sector between Sirius and Alpha Trianguli sectors (where the little dot with Bajor next to it is marked)

I'm sure Cryptic has a 3D sector map they use to justify how they've connected things. The 2D map we have in game was bound to show the weakness of 2D in a galaxy sooner or later.

No, it's more the fact that Breen space and Klingon space are separated by both the Cardassian Union and the Federation, which makes it difficult to allow both KDF and Starfleet players to get there without the weird connection. You can assume that the bridged link involves unshown cloaked travel through [or above/below] Federation territory for KDF players. Would be more elegant if there was a connection to Cardassian space that KDF players could access, or else a transwarp gate for them to use.

Possibly. I'm not complaining, just found it interesting.

Since Cardassian space is connected to the new sector perhaps Klingons will be able to travel through there to get to the Cardassian sector. I see no reason why not.
