Finish the freaking website....

It's been six months, are you kidding me that you still can't get all the ships listed on the ship page? (http://www.startrekonline.com/ships-index) You can have the C-store updated in a minute but you still haven't even finished fleshing out the Ship descriptions. And by now, you would think you would have added a Klingon Category to the ship page....

Go hire some interns or get the marketing dude to stop making posts and start cross training him in web development.

Hell, hire Suricata for a temp job, he said he could use it.

A minute? I hope you are exaggerating.

I could use the extra money! lol

lol That would never work, if you don't have some sort of passion for web development you won't be able to learn it/do it. Besides they'd have to pay the marketing people extra to do it anyway since its not in their job description, so might as well get someone who likes web development.

    We could work together

I do agree that the ships should be finished, but at least it doesn't badly affect game play.

Yeah, I owned a small web development company for years and hired contractors to do the work that was out of the talent range of myself and my workers. It was not expensive to do, and there are freelancers out there all the time that are really good and can get things done.

It hurts the presentation of this game. It's something that shows it is being half butted alot.

    lol. exactly the same here.

I'm a designer....all the coding, database or scripting I needed I farm out.... and they farm graphical stuff to me ... good symbiotic relationship.

My specialty is the front-end and visual aspect. ... I aint no coder....

    ( left-brain -vs- right-brain thinking ).

sure it's probably 2 diffrent people doing them.

Look at any $15.00/month MMO's website out there and STO website will look like a simple PHP bulletin board frontpage.

And being new isn't an excuse. I play EVE since release, and their website has always been top-notch. CCP's QA dept is, in my opinion, eons ahead Blizzard's.

The in-game news on EVE's site is my favorite part. Well that and COAD but that's part of the forums.

EVE can do that because it has a persistent sandbox universe that allows its players to impact the world they play in. Still, I'm told dreams can come true...

I know why they can do it, everything in that game is player-driven. I'm just saying that I like reading about things happening in the in-game world.

And then exploiting the news to make ISK.

I'm sure they will finish it and offer the finished version to all players who buy it on the C-Store.

they have been updating the ships page on a regular basis, but the people that do that also make the game so its a case of juggling their time around.

i hope they will add the new ships seen in the c-store and start adding a klingon section now

STO is like having 100 half full buckets of water and trying to top them up from the same well. Guess we have to keep buying the mineral water from the C Store....
