It can certainly be hoped. There shouldn't be any reason why you would not modestly increase resources to an income source in order to grow that source. Unless you divert that money to revitalize the other divisions that are flagging. Only time will tell what is what.
All it means is that Atari execs can pocket more cash. Every item bought at the C-store contributes to their corporate fuel fund so they can drive around in their Lambos and Zondas.

Any evidence to support this, or are you just sporting a tin foil hat in public?
That certainly explains all this c-store mumbo jumbo going on.
Well think of it this way. Everyone's been saying that STO is struggling, and to an extent it is and in need of resources to grow. As much as it sucks, the head of Cryptic's accounts can take income from the C-store to the players who budget resources and go 'Look, if we can grow this market, look at all the pretty money you can make.' It is a long held truth that fans are an exploitable resource, but if done correctly, and the player base can be grown from more content being available, supplemented by the C-Store, then fans can also be a renewable resource because they will keep buying your product.

I'm sure the board of directors love seeing that after having the company's sales drop 65%
It's pretty good news for us. Because if we can convince the Cryptic devs that we don't like certain things they're doing...or want them to do stuff they need more time or funding for...then they can relay that to their bosses.
It gives the devs more influence versus the 'bean-counters'. If we're Atari's only profitable customer base, they really don't want to lose or alienate us. Hell, they'd want to grow the subscriber base, not cause it to shrink.
$10.8 million over a quarter is about $3.6 million per month. For CO and STO.
That's not a lot of subscribers when you think the revenue includes boxed sales, Cryptic store points and monthly subscription payments.
I just hope the money is reinvested in CO and STO for more content. We have been having too much cheap goodies rather than content these days.

One would like to think that is the case. Now the major reporting is coming in now, so we should start seeing possible signs of allocation of resources in the next few months. Bear in mind if Atari does more in that direction it won't be an immediate appearance of stuff. They still have to bring in people they can afford, train them up on the tools they use, or bring them up to speed if they move in house, and then actually DO.

Corporations walk the fine line of needing to keep the cash cow alive while minimizing the resources required to do so.
So overall i think this is good news, as if it sounds like ATARI will put resources to keep STO (the revenue stream) alive.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA!
Less a tinfoil hat and more a +4 cloak of cynicism.
