I am thinking of buying the game and i wanted to hear what you thought of the game today. I did try the game few months back and at the time there were some crashing of the game.
So just tell me if you think they are doing good job fixing the game and how well have they done so far. Every new mmo has these issues at least in the begining so i would just like to know if they are being fixed in this one.
If there are any issues with my current computer hardware and the game please let me know about those too.

A lot of ATI chips will crash unless you turn off dynamic lighting. It's an old bug that is (still) waiting for ATI to react and figure out what the problem is. There's a good chance it's the same one you hit before.
Otherwise, there are no significant crash issues outstanding, so far as I'm aware.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think it's realy a problem that ati should work out since this isn't happening in any other games. Maybe cryptic should contact ati if they can't figure out what's causing it on ati cards.
I also think i had a different issue since at least most of my crashes happened as i entered a base full of klingons. Nice to know you think there isn't lot of issues with the game.
Can you guys tell me what you think of the community? I am currently with age of conan and as it is 18+ game most of the people there are mature enough to behave in good maner.

See above re: Cryptic still waiting for ATI to respond.

Ok i thought you ment cryptic is just waiting for ati to fix this issue by them selves.
Good to know that cryptic has told the players they have contacted ati and are waiting for their response on the matter.
Community - Quite mature imho. If there's someone spamming on chat... just set him/her to ignore.
ATI: I'm running two 5770 in Crossfire X mode. I've set max FPS to 60 and there wasn't a BSoD so far. But I think STO has burned out my old 4870 while STO was in open beta (well it had a modified but better cooler, but that was not the problem). I did not set a max FPS and after a crash ingame the graphics card refused to enter 3D mode as soon I startet STO, MW5 or any 3D game (BSOD). Desktop mode was ok. Thank god my retailer accepted the warranty claim...
Just as a practical matter, since the ATI/AMD developer contact they normally use hasn't responded, why not find someone else at ATI/AMD to contact and report the problem to who can escalate it internally at ATI/AMD and get some kind of resolution? Maybe Cryptic has already tried this, but not that I'm aware of.
