Is Holo Leeta Sentient?

SystemSystem Member, NoReporting Posts: 178,019 Arc User
She seems self-aware, not waning me to stare at her holo thingies or touch her, which seems strange for a holographic dabo girl.

Is she that way because she was programmed to seem self-aware, or has she become self-aware after running endlessly at Quark's for years, kind of like the Voy EMH?

Devs, can you please clarify?

Considering she says the same things over and over (sometimes over top of other recordings), I doubt it.

It's more like a rudimentary self-awareness than a Leeta Clone.

Well the path to 2409 does talk A LOT about the legal battles for sentient holograms.

I don't know if she is self-aware or not, but I do know she asked me if I wanted to get lucky.

( In truth I think Quark cut corners again, and used the vulcan love slave program to make her. all he had to do was change the look, and replace pon farr with dabo. that would explains why she gets so happy when she says dabo. )

As posted in another thread, Holo-Leeta pulling me to a back corner of Quarks to solicit some action. I think you may be right, Zodi-emish.

If you look at her shoulder, she has the doctor's holo-emitter on, which would suggest she is free to move around anywhere she likes, learn, and grow beyond her original programming. I'd say she's just as sentient as the doctor.

The portable emmiters are redily available in the STO timeline.

And you could have the holo emitter produce a table, but it does not mean that it's a sentient table.

Leeta is far from sentient. She says the same thing over and over and over again.

Woah, woah, woah. Slow down a sec. Have you asked the table if its sentient?

There are posters on these forums that do that. They pass for sentient.
