Please keep dabo at exclusively at Quark's!!

The dabo tables at Quark's have done wonders for the social aspect of this game. Suddenly, everyone is hanging out in the same room, partying, laughing, telling jokes, and gambling.

Please keep dabo exclusively at Quarks. If the dabo tables are spread throughout the galaxy, then people will disperse and this new surging social aspect will vanish.

I have always felt Quark's should be the social center of the game. The one spot in all the galaxy where everyone goes to relax, play games, socialize, and party. By just adding a dabo table it has already made a leap towards being just this.

Some additional ways to help make Quark's the social center of the galaxy:

*Add a darts mini-game to the bar. There's already a dartboard, so add a game of darts. When we play darts with friends, let us actually see their characters throw the darts at the board, etc.

*When we buy food and drink at Quark's and consume it, let us see ourselves and others actually eating and drinking it! How cool would it be to have a mug of synthahol or canar IN HAND while standing at the bar, and occationally knocking back a swig of it? Give us food and drink animations.

*The third floor is all wrong. It is supposed to be holosuites. Add holosuites for us to go on adventures with friends, target practice, play around with UGC, etc.

*Morn. Add him. Let us buy him a drink. :D

*Tongo mini-games for advanced players. No Federation Credit buy-ins, latinum only. Make this a more advanced, mathmatical game. Again, exclusive to Quark's.

Other ideas?

uh ... it's already non-exclusive. It's at that klingon station in Eta Eridani as well. Dolzana or however it's spelled.

So your saying the Klingons shouldn't be able to play Dabo?

I'd say no to the first idea. Dabo is a social experience that makes sense in various areas.

However, I've created a high-resolution Tongo game-board from photoshop PSD layers (and can psuedo animate it as a GIF animation).

The trick is developing a set of rules that adheres to what little we've heard from the Shows. The cards are also not as complex as they might appear in design. :D

No, it should not remain exclusive to DS9. Secondly, the Captains Table needs a Dabo Table as well.

Yeah, just put one in everybody's ship, then we never have to see each other.

Once they fix the bet spam, it'll be great for socialising.

But it shouldn't be exclusive. Let the high rollers pay a few million GPLs for their own Quark's Dabo franchise to run on their ships or other future player-run locations.

Let the owners set the odds and rewards themselves, and let them invite folk along to play. Could be a nice little earner for those who want to Roleplay a social area.

In addition to DS9 and Drozanna, I think it should at least be added to Risa.

I meant the Lifetimer/Top Veteran reward space station/bar, it resides in the aenigma nebula. But now that we are on the subject of personal Dabo Tables, then okay, I will go for that. Put one in Ten Forward, and put the other In my Quarters, with an Orion Dabo girl, and maybe put one in Sick Bay. I dunno, it just seems like it needs one.

I think Dabo should be exclusive to quarks BUT.

DS9 should also be made neutral ground, so both Feds and Klinks can visit and socialise there.

i would rather there not be something that gives rewards put on our ships. The Dabo game gives out latinum and thus shouldn't be placed on our ships.

they have added dabo to the klingon/fed neutral location in donatu sector of eta eridani. so both races can meet there

I believe he did. You suggested making DS9 neutral territory. That would not fly. Firstly, DS9 is a Federation Starbase, Klingons are shoot on sight except for some free traders here and there. The station is run and owned by the Federation and Starfleet, so that will not happen.

Again DS9 is practically a military installation right now. It is perhaps the focal point for operations involving Bajoran and Cardassian space.

Secondly, there is neutral territory on the neutral zone. That is the best you can hope for unless you are a Lifetimer or Long Term Veteran and you frequent the Captains table, that is neutral ground.

Finally, Dabo is not an exclusive game, therefore it should not be exclusive to Quarks.

The captains table needs a High Stakes Dabo table. 10k minimum 100k maximum bet. :D

I agree with this notion. The Captain's Table = The Monte Carlo of Star Trek :p

The irony is that most of the RPer community is terrified of Dabo because it'll bring so many trolls and bad RPers into Quark's we'll be forced to move, and there's almost nowhere else for us to go.

I haven't seen many "bad" RP'ers, in fact I do not think I have seen any RP'ers at all in my time playing. Dabo is fun if you want to relax and gamble, kind of like settling down for Poker in Red Dead Redemption.

It helps that most people play characters that behave similar to their own personalities.

Too bad you can't buy an emitter that doesn't break.

Or a REAL Ferenghi ship. :D

Dabo at the Captains Table would be awesome. While the dev's are at it, Captains Table could benifit from:

    Crafting Table with feringi merchants
Ship / Ground Consumable and weapon items merchants
    Ship's Tailor

Limited it to Quarks' doesn't make sense, he has no monopoly on dabo as a game, or the wheel construction. Also, it would limit the money sink effect, which would only help inflation.

Well, the idea is that there is benefit in encouraging large groups of people to gather at one spot. Socialization and all that.

Also, things like poker should be playable from any ship interior, so a mini game like dabo (or..darts maybe?) can be limited to a few select locations if there are other games that are available anywhere.
