More Dabo Rewards

I played dabo on Tribble and I like it. I think it could help out socialization by getting people in the game to the same place. This could become a new staging area for groups like maybe people could find other players to do PVP, STF's or fleet actions. It could also get more people into RP'ing.

What I would like to see is more dabo rewards that are only available with Gold press latinum. Like off duty clothing and maybe holo deck costumes. Like a world war I biplane pilots uniform a gangsters zoot suit maybe a Sherlock Holmes costume and cowboy's clothing. From the shows where they would sometimes get into costumes for the holo-decks.

These could be used for RP and a maybe some holo-deck missions if we get UGC. Or the costume it's self could give access to a repeatable holo-deck quest that fits the costume. Like a private eye story or a gangster story a western or maybe even a World War I biplane flying circus dogfight.

Also like to see a few small ships like some Ferengi ships or maybe even some shuttles like the Delta Flyer. Or even some luxury vessels like yachts.

I want to see more rewards with dabo the only way to get them.

    Agreed! We need MORe to use that GPL on! I could easily waste TONS of energy credits on that game! Now make the holosuites active and you got a goldmine there! :)

    you wont see me frequenting a gambling den , star fleet officers dont play dablo . dax was the exception =)

    anyway have fun but there was better ways to go content wise than creating a casino

    The Bridge Officers playing poker every week was a bit too much for you?

    Also, O'Brien and Bashir played Tongo (even attempting to beat Quark).

    lol i just knew id get this sort of reply because i find gambling repulsive .

    its wasted developer time imho and im entitled to that opinion

    I find killing entire swathes of people in a desensitized, repetitive manner to be more repulsive (even if it's more compelling than gambling) ;)

    Also, can't ignore the fact that gambling has occurred in every Star Trek series.

    as i understand it nothing was actually gambled in TnG bridge crew games and especially not when captain picard joined in , it was done as a fun relaxing time , with nothing worth more than a match stick ,

    offcourse in real terms the energy credit farmers who sell ingame items are gonna love this , opens a whole new world to get real life money from the gullible

    If I recall, the rewards are bind on receipt - not sure how this works.

    I would appreciate it if the Devs would list those holo emitters as consumable. I wasn't aware they disappeared from my inventory after 15 minutes of use. Or as I would prefer it, take out the consumable portion of the item so that it has a reuse cooldown instead.

    Agreed. Dabo desperately needs more rewards. Also a higher maximum wager!

    I concur, more rewards that dont disapear after 15min. Kinda a complete waste to spend 15k lat on items that will end up gone. Cool ideas but never the less, add in items that dont disapear :)

    And the whole 15 mins thing IS annoying.

    I spend 300,000 credits on dabo to get the undine holo emitter and its gone in 15 mins....

    When I put it on the time remaining is listed on the toolbar. I'm at 14:31 left. ..which is probably going to stay that way for a long time. I found the rewards for playing to not really be worth the time involved. Though I would RP playing Dabo, I wouldn't do it for the current reward options. Clothing options would be nice. . .just hope they don't last 15 minutes, might be embarrassing to have them run out while your in a crowd. . :P

    EDIT: and I found Dabo to have roughly a 10% return on your EC investment. it goes slow when you get 20 latinum or 15 latinum for 30 minutes straight.

    I would not mind permanent holo emitters (ones that are unlimited use) or even just the option to buy things like Ferengi vessels, etc.

    Some type of ground reward would be nice.

    I like the IDEA of cowboy outfits or Sherlock Holmes gear but I think those should be tied in with UGC rewards and we have to be careful about putting a good reward in the wrong place as Dabo is more about profit than imagination.

    As such...

    I would suggest they add uniforms but make them gaudy or flashy somehow, distinctively Ferengi.

    I'd like to see Ferengi suits added as a Dabo reward, with more loud, elaborate and flashy ones progressively more expensive. So a basic Ferengi suit is cheap but the most expensive one is adorned with jewelry and has, say, a leopard print top and coat cuffs and lapels in leopard print. Just a hideous show of opulence that would make a pimp blush. And these would be cross faction for anyone with the latinum to pay for it.

    Then maybe have a couple faction specific options.

    My thoughts there would be:

    Federation:
    (Low Grade) Pseudo-Starfleet Uniform (ala Nog)
    (Mid Grade) Pseudo-Starfleet Uniform (from "Live Fast and Prosper" - VOY)

    Klingon:
    (Low Grade) Complete TOS Uniform Unlock - Including Baldric, belt, boots and female variant
    (High Grade) Chancellor's Uniform (Gorkon's Ensemble)

    Yes, I would like to see the holo-emitters for the ships permanent or increased to two days of game time. I could see it causing problems in PVP. They could fix this easily just by giving us different ship icon for our targets. If you target a escort it's icon on the target hud would be different than science or cruiser ships. They need this any way it would help targeting so much.

    It's fun to change your ship appearance and there are many to collect. 15 minutes is just to short two game times days would be a lot better.

    As for costumes I just thought it would be nice to have them RP'ers could use them in Quarks as props. They could put them in their RP session as they were about to enter the holo-deck. It would be kind of funny to run around PVP as cowboy. Or the Captain Proton uniform.

    I don't think they would put uniforms in there but I hope they give us some really nice Ferengi suits. I liked some of Quarks suits he wore in DS9.

    I dont have a toon on tribble so I havent played dabo yet
    Given the threads on it I think my excitement when I first heard of the idea was misplaced.

    I was sort of hoping that latinum would be able to be spent on illegal-ish goods like weird ground weapons and contraban food items for breeding new tribble types.
