Before I go into the post, I just wanted to say that When you make a game like STO you have to live up to the Epic Legend, not just the Epicness of what we call star trek, but the Legend of what we know of as star trek....You have a Hard time ahead of you and you have a Million things you want to do and you have to pick and choose and for that I tip my hat to you. These can go on your list, some I bet are allready on your list...But I hope that maybe there is something you didnt think about...and this suggestion would make everyone have a better experience. Now my suggestion.
Currently the consoles all do the same thing and I find this very strange...
Lets take a look at torpedo consoles. We have a warhead consoel that adds +X% dmg to projectiles Fair enough, then we have the (for example) Transphasic Compressor This also does +X% dmg.
Wouldnt a Transphasic Compressor add more to shield penetration? Aside from me wanting Transphasic weapons from really sucking (imo) This would add more depth to consols. It would force you to balance pure damage with a bonus to weapon specific bonus' This idea also means that the Bonus' are going to have to be worth a "darn" cause frankly some of them aren't pulling their weight for the cost of skill points to use to upgrade the skill.
tetryon really? (Why hasnt this been fixed? This should have been done at Beta!) As a space weapon its worthless, not to mention its the only one that the "effect" doesnt do anything once shields are down (if you were really inventive give it a bonous to a ship when its shields are down, something small not uber powerful here)... The main fix is change it to -x% to shields and it would be worth looking into, not -X to shields. On ground its decent cause shield powers are less and you can increase your shield power much more often on ground then in space.
Yes this is part of the overflow...I want to be able to use the replicators on board my ship when I beam up, not just the one on the inventory, but be able to see like my inventory window and the the opening of the replicator and if you were really cool add in effects so I can see what I order right then and there ( Earl Grey Hot!) (no im not a huge RP fan but it would be cool to see, there are also replicators in the tutorial, make them offline or something)
Oh speaking of the tutorial, when you first start, you look out the window and what do you see...stagnant ships shooting a cube...the lamest intro ever. If your serious about getting new people to play the game, start with making the tutorial better. Make that your number one priority. IMO I would like to see my butt get saved from a fully fuctional cube by a Sovereign class just the shock and awe of one of them in the tutorial while in a tiny lil T1 ship would make the geek in me jump for joy =p
While on this tangent of the tutorial, it seem all the interiors are the same...I know this is the first release of interriors, but if your going to do something right, wait and get it right. I would have hopped you learned that leason from opening beta to Live. Soo many bugs it turned people away but you dont need me to say it. My suggestion is have the interriors tied to the bridge that you have selected (Btw put some kind of icon next to the bride packs that are purchased from the C store when you go to select it in shipyard)
I almost forgot, Im in adv escort, and I got the 4 warp engines and only 2 do the warp thing when I got to exit sector space, can you put the warp effects on all the engines? not just the top 2
2nd edit.
Ok so I almost forgot, Everyone like shuttle crafts, and While I know there are posts about what do with them I wanted to add my 2 cents. Have missions (admiral ish) where instead of beaming down to the surface of a planet (for example) have the option to use your shuttle craft and have its own fun mission.
Second have options to use your BO powers In missions to aid a NPC. This might sound odd, but lets say your defending a damaged NPC ship and you have to wait for them to make repairs and destroy the enemy coming at you. If you have the skill of engineering team 1 you can use it on the damaged ship to give it functional weapons instead of sitting there like a stump.
