I have played it many times and it is old imho. I make alts almost as much as I change my socks ,so I would almost pay cp to never have to do it again. This may not seem like a big problem, but I've seen it asked for before.I'm not real forum savy or I might have linked in some posts.:)

Now please for the love of humanity turn it off make it stop make stop

* You know not every Officer in the game made that event lets have a new incursion somewhere new and bring newbies in another way.

:D

One thing I've seen mentioned before is that any future factions would probably start at level 5 like Klingons and Federation would eventually have that option as well.

The ability to bypass the tutorial is a good idea.

SierraBishop should also change socks more often.:)

They did it for Champions, I don't see why not for STO. The question is: When does the tutoral end and playing start?

It would be nice if we had a choice of multiple beginnings like in WoW, but mostly I'd settle for making the @&#%$ popup tips go away.

I say at lt-5 to make it equal with klingons and make pvp easily reachable for when you play alts. Also the first 6 levels are so dragging and horrible to go trough again, in fact I hate the whole lt path, but that is just me. I like the game from lt commander.

I know it probably got overlooked and then BURIED by ... well all sort of other topics ... but ... dstahl has a post around here somewhere confirming that they are going to, someday, make the tutorial skippable.

Not sure where it is on their very long to do list, but it's there somewhere.

I'd be good with skipping to the first time you see spacedock to talk to the admiral.

be good enough skip for me.

There should be an option, for those who have completed the Tutorial at least once, to skip it when they make a new character. It will put you up to however much skill points you'd have normally earned by doing the Tutorial, including the gear you would have earned placed in your inventory (though this is hardly a requirement).

Consider this a vote for the "Promote BOff to player character" floated in one of the recent STOked casts. Basically, the BOff makes Captain and leaves your ship for a command of their own - becoming a new character for you at the level they've carried over.

I'm fine with the tutorial... I just want to be able to turn the tips off. Still getting them when you're an admiral is just absurd.

Personally, I'm rather put off making alt-characters purely because I don't really wish to play through the tutorial for a 4th time (twice in beta, once in the retail game).

Champions eventually gave you the option to make new characters start in one of the 2 starting zones from level 5 and skip the tutorial once you'd done it the first time, so a similar set up in STO where you skip the tutorial and begin off at Earth Spacedock at level 5 would be very appreciated.

I don't really understand why it's taking so long to come about really, it was one of the things mentioned long before launch and it's been working in Champions for months before STO was released. It seems to me that it shouldn't take too much work to get it in there, so it's a bit disappointing that we're coming up on the second big content push next week and it's no-where to be found.

If we're still stuck with this by season 3's roll around, it's a basic issue that will have gone on way too long.

    I agree.

First time through you should do it. As far as Tutorials it is quite good. But I do find it quite redundant when you do it for the 10th time (and yes I really do have that many characters).

Also dunno where everyone is getting the Lvl 5 for the tutorial. If you do it, you come out as Lieutenant 2.

It's just to create parity between Federation characters and Klingon (and future faction) characters. There is no definite level you finish the tutorial at - it's just a matter of what XP you pick up during it.

You can't even begin to imagine how many times I've done it... it is a staggering amount of times... because it was part of the testing procedure when we were working on a new update.

I got to the point I could do the entire tutorial in under 4 minutes start to finish...

so yea.. skipping the tutorial (or having an entirely new tutorial) are both fine ideas in my book.

I suggested a long time ago that they make the tutorial Starfleet Academy. You're already a graduated officer. You start on the grounds, facing an instructor, who offers for you to take classes (tutorials) on various aspects or just beam to your awaiting ship.

A nice sunny, green-grass campus. Buildings with classrooms (instanced) for tutorials in the form of holodeck training with instructors.

When you beam up, the space tutorial is an optional "ship combat trial" that you can warp to, or just ignore and head straight to Earth Spacedock for your first assignment.

I deployed armor but no new graphic showed up. The blue animation occurred but the texture was the same as if you bought a captain level Intrepid class :(

Personally, I could care less about skipping the tutorial, what I want to see happen is to have a check block in the options menu to turn off the darn game hints. Really, how many times do I need to be reminded how to use the vendor on ESD? I hate that they just pop up if you even get close to something on ESD.

If you do a new one for the Federation ; make one for the KDF as well, (and other factions as they are added in the future; or find a way to do a 'faction neutral' one); and allow people to START OFF as Federation/Klingon/Romulan, et. al. I think that would make a lot of playes who prefer a faction other than Federation happier in the long run.

Or how to fly your ship in sector space. That 'info' popup in Sirius is everpresent as well. It's ridiculous. At RAUH2, I'm pretty sure I know how to fly through sector space. Yeesh. :p
