In a thread regarding new BO abilities, someone recommended that "Eject Warp Core" would be an Engineer ability. Ejecting the Warp Core would essentially be like dropping a super powerful mine doing wide range damage to the ships nearby.
This got me to thinking. If you were to eject your Warp Core, you wouldn't have the ability to Warp out of the system you're in. Using that BO skill would (if we were following canon) prevent you from completing the mission. But, what if using that BO skill triggered another objective in the current mission?
In this example, you perform the "Eject Warp Core" action, and your enemies are destroyed. If you would have defeated them normally, without EWC, your mission would be over, and you'd simply return to Sector Space. But since you now have no Warp Drive, an additional mission objective is created where you have to acquire a new one from a nearby planet, or from a nearby ship.
This is just an example as to how your actions during combat can vary the mission outcomes. Thoughts?
