A Couple of ideas

I have been speaking to some of my fleet mates and we were bouncing ideas around, and the major idea we had was, instead of ESC (Enemy Signal Contacts) flying into you perhaps you fly into them because when you reach Vice Admiral NO ESCs come to you and its annoying but also the fact that when you are trying to fly through sector space and the ESC just comes up to you and takes you in and sometimes it is soooo frustrating because you spend a while going through sector space and if you are AFK then you could get sucked in and waste time.

The only other idea was one I came up with, which was the dreadnought Idea. For when the game progresses the Admiral and Fleet Admiral level (which it will :D ;P). Have when you reach Fleet Admiral or Admiral, you should receive a new ship i.e. the dreadnought for feds and Carrier for Klingons (so move it from BG5 to FG1 or something). And have this ship fully customizable so when you get it and go on the Ship customizer, extra advanced slots come into play as standard. So the first would be type: so Either a Tactical, Engineering or Science ship, where each type gives you a special bonus, i.e. Engineering gives you 1 extra weapon slot to Aft and Fore from whatever the Admiral or Vice Admiral ships will be, and increase the standard Dreadnought hull increased by 10% and have extra crew as well as having other Engineering special bonuses. And then you have 3 ship classes for each type, so continuing Engineering for example: Jupiter (as seen already), Saturn (for example) and Hulk. And then it comes up with a menu where it allows you to move the position or scale of something , for example for the Jupiter maybe moving the "X Scale" towards the front, so on the bar next to the name type i.e Nacelles, there is X scale, which moves it along the ship and Y scale which moves it down and on the end of each scale there is Down Up or Front and back (for example) which would move the nacelles closer to the front and moving the Y scale along towards the Down of the bar to make them in the middle of the ship.

And this would allows a more variable and more detailed customization with your ship, not just with your character, so you and a friend could have a Jupiter class but look completely different to add a more unique touch to the game.
