Hey all well here are my 2 cents on this, I think we shall get an option button or setting that
we can use to select if we want to get planet quest or space quest's when we do the quests in the quest zones like delta voranis and thus places.
I think this is an good idea to us that only want to do space or planet quests, make's it easier to create 1 good talent build, because there isn't enough talents to get good in both of them, now I realize that is the point, but however it makes for more fun play to have the option to chose the build and then be able to filter away the ground quests if you are build to space combat.
now you must enter the quest and see if it is planet or space and alternatively leave, and precious game time are lost, I personally spec to pure space once I hit RA5.
I don't care much for the ground quest, so I am forced to find space quest and that in some cases can take a loon time to get.
record I 2 hours in the nebula to get 1 space battle it seems that the game have more tendency to pick planet quest. " I know that is pure random".
So I think this is a valid thing to put on the wish list of this game, then one have more option to chose the game play one want.
More mission types, more maps, more map layouts, more varied mission write ups.
Missions are so cookie cutter now I know almost exactly what I'm getting into the moment I warp into a map. I know exactly where the weapon crates/tribble piles/medicine stash will be on a map. I know where the enemies spawn. I know the path is always the same. I know the dangerous plant really isn't dangerous. I know I can't enter any buildings. I Know the enemy will never react to my incursion by sending in additional forces (always Five somethings).
That's the problem - after just these 6 months I know all - the game is too dang predictable.
Now if I were to get the mission to go to the asteroid base to kill 5 tribbles (ugh) and I kill my first pile of tribbles and the Fed SPCA show up to confront me, or on beam out after wiping out five squads of Reman instead of just going back to sector I get bushwacked by their pals in their spiffy battleships and I have to fight my way to sector space every so often it might be a bit more interesting.
Random numbers of spawns (1 to 6 should work) for enemy groups/interact items/data spots.
Several more mission archtypes are needed.
I'd prefer they were more complex myself....even if it's just kill X enemy groups, gather X data and interact with X items...some missions would only have 1 of these, some all 3. Throw in aid the planet, scan derelict ships, ect. for space.
In many ST episodes, something is going on in space while something is happening on the ground (Kirk and Spock are on the ground cuddling when a Klingon ship shows up, Scotty responds by getting sloshed), for gameplay reasons 1 after the other works....though it would be neat to have to play as the Boffs you left behind.
I'd also like to be able to "save" a few planets found in exploration, some looked very nice and would love to go back.

They NEED to kill the predictability bigtime!
