yes they will be adding some functionality but with all things it will take some time to sort out
Thanks, then we hope that there are some reason to enter the bridge and use it for something god?
The bridge has been just a museum before.
A place to take screen dumps to send to friends in an desperate attempt to get them interested in this game...

I don't think there is anything planned for the bridge itself, certainly not being able to fly your ship from it if thats what you mean.
Given that all abilities used ingame are derived from your character or your BO's, why does the interior have to do anything other than the cosmetic?
Any such real-time use of interior ship functions, such as using engineering to boost flight speed, that could effect a ships functioning ingame would be to slow to affect combat.
I do think ship interiors would be a great setting for future missions eventually.
...so am I to understand that ship interiors will have no functions at all?
If so then they just finally made one too many mistakes for my taste.
Interiors will have function. Just not the bridge.
Your science lab will have an anomaly mini-game that got pushed back. Your lounge will have a Poker social game. There are likely games in the works for sickbay and main engineering.
The bulk of what interiors are there for is, aside from being a cosmetic place to visit, being a place where some combat missions will take place down the line.
I'm really starting to wonder....just how much time it is going to take to get a complete product out of these guys to be honest.
what exactly have we gotten for our $400+ (and climbing) investment in this madness ?
the feeling of service/product gained when compared to investment paid ? yeaaaaaa... it's not there IMO .......
.:(:(
I think I can comment on this. Your probably looking at 18 months before the game is complete.
It is essentially in Beta ATM. Most MMOs need 4 solid years of development before they come to market. For whatever reason, justified or not, this game was released only half completed essentially.
The problem, of course, is that the impression the game is giving, even today, is going to permanently hurt it in the long run.

Play RED DEAD RENDEMPTION, when you are waiting for them to finish this game!
IT is an GREATE Game with much freedom.
Ship Interiors are basically going to be cosmetic, but personally I love get rid of the small storage system we have and go with mass amounts of storage within our own ship. There should be no reason we can't store things on the ship, decorate, etc. Also it would be kinda fun to be able to customized certain parts of your ships like lets say a dilithium crystal to enhance performance. Customization upon customization is good if you ask me.
Functionality is on it's way (remember we didn't even have interiors) they're new give them time. At least the Devs are going in the right direction.
Sure it would be nice if we had all that right now but the game did launch early and we all knew what we where getting into with the condition of the game before we made the leap into a life time sub.
Has there been a release date for the expanded interiors? I hear that sick bay will have a game dealing with healing and stuff like that. I was pretty sure though they said that at somepoint they also hope to have a game for the bridge as well...I'm pretty excited, although I would have liked for them to expand some of the planets (Vulcan seems so small). It does feel that alot of the things coming out now should have been released at launch...maybe they brought it out too early, but I still hold hope that the game will be good in the long run.

been there, done that, thought it SUCKED.
seriously, how can you make a WESTERN game where shooting stuff is the most horrible gameplay part in the game?
It's like making an MMO without open PVP. (just makes no sense)
If you want to play Poker, by all means RDR has that!
But if you want to shoot stuff... get a real game, like Call of Juarez - Bound in Blood!
There you can actually AIM and shoot people... and they have horses, too.
I agree with all the haters this time. But gotta ask, you guys don't use yer bridges to reset your tribbles for space combat? or trade cross-galaxy items wit the homies? That's functional to me...

I cant even tell you how much headache that has saved me.

man... I really wish I had the platform to play this game. (Im just PC and Wii).
.....its a true win.... hope they cross platforms down the road with it.

That would be better from the captains ready room or the captains quarters.
