what is the deal with people on this game being out right jerks to people? I posted in the test server area of the forums asking a question yesterday or maybe the day before asking about the klingon content in the section named feedback discussion even though it asn't in the bug section and this jerk has made a point to contstnatly harass me and prove he's going to continue to pick on me non stop. i mean is this what I have to deal with for 15 bucks a month?
You're best to report such posts if you feel they are harassment, and more importantly not reply in kind.
Personally, what I find problematic from people in this game is how 'quiet' they are when playing. People refusing to talk back during Open Instance missions gives a very cold, unfeeling taint to the game aside from Zonechat discussions... which is why people are probably better off joining Fleets at the earliest convenience so that they have people they can communicate to whom might give a damn about them in return.
yeah that about sums it up the way I've been treatedby some of these jerks over the forums lately for just asking a question. they've been trying to act all superior.
just /ignore him. Not to derail your OP but what the heck is it with these guys just sitting in the DSE's not doing anything. don't they know it gos faster if they actually do something?

They probably got zoned into it while AFK, and never wanted to be there in the first place.

Yes, ignore is your friend.
It allows you to be rid of the input of blackguards, yahoos, cads, and mean peoples in order to better hear the ones who are speaking in more civil tones.
Also, DSE lazy camping = FTL.
There has to be a basic solution to that.....
Such as if you don't hit any buttons on the first popup window within 10 seconds you are autozoned back out and returned to your original course.
For those that intentionally lazy camp a more creative solution is required which I am too tired to dream up.

I noticed you like to "classify" people in a lot of your posts.....
Well, I just looked at the Tribble Feedback sub-forum, and I can't see a thread made by the OP that has anything in it like he is saying. True, I only checked the first page, but the three threads started by him (on the first page) have nothing in them remotely close to what he is describing.
They pay to play just as you do let them do what they will. Remember not everyone in the encounter can be there every second in game, some people do need to jet away from the keyboard for a few seconds, and sometimes that few seconds can turn into a few minutes.
people like me find a more efficient use of time while leveling is to zone into an instance with people and afk to do other things. being minus one person in a DSE dosen't change if you get it done or not, maybe they will help at some point, otherwise you are in there with the same number of people as without them, at least you aren't totally alone.
As for people beng jerks, welcome to the internet. Everyone has an ego, some like to stroke it more than others.

they aren't on the first page any more. and it doesn't matter anymore. the point was the little things like players going out of their way to be so nasty and nit pickety with me is very irritating and not appreciated nor welcomed nor does it make me feel very welcomed into this game. if I wanted to be treated like dog TRIBBLE by a community and over privledged 12 year olds I'd go back to playing world of warcraft.

I guess I came from a different time then. I was taught to respec others. Today's young people I guess weren't. I do respect other people when they respect me.

Well, okay, I can understand that, and I think you're right for the most part (and yes, even though I can and have (and probably will again) gotten nasty to posters on these forums, I really try not to be and I don't care for the ones who do). I might not have written the sentence about WoW, though.
Unfortunately, from my 3-4 years reading Eve's forums and about a year on here, I've noticed that people on game forums will be mean (for the majority).
Ignore is your best friend. some people come on here to complain in a civilized manner, and others come on here and cause problems. ( some times it is in hopes to close a thread if they disagree with it )

I made the remark about wow because when i first started 5 years ago it seemed to be an older crowd now world of warcraft seems to be more populated by younger kids who probably couldn't tell you anything about the warcraft franchise if you paid them to.

Please tell me that's an exaggeration. This was my first MMO and I was thinking about trying World of Warcraft.

sadly that is the truth. it does seem that older people have moved on, and it is populated by younger children.
( you would fine more mature people in halo ) ok maybe not.
Over time, the majority of MMO populations end up being bratty lil kids and teenagers. Its a sad truth. But the nice thing is, soon as the new shiny (new MMO) comes out, they leave in droves.
Happened several times in the 6 years City of Heroes has been online. Just as I'm expecting to see a lot of them return to CoH when the Going Rogue expansion goes live.
I guess I came from a different time then. I was taught to respec others. Today's young people I guess weren't. I do respect other people when they respect me.
LOL you think it's the youngins who are being mean to you? Players in the 15-18 bracket are the minority in this game. You probably represent the mean age for players in the game.
People of all generations are taught to respect others, but it's no worse now than it was 50 years ago, you just weren't old enough to understand people were that way when you were young. On top of that you have the anonymity that the internet and MMOs offer, with a large portion of the community being super trekkies who nerdrage over the size ratios of vesels or whether the paintjobs are canon rather than enjoying the damn game, toss in some of the elitism that comes from end game superiority complexes and you get the MMO chat system. It could be worse we could be playing WOW and listening to 12 years talk about "the sex they had last night" in barrens chat, despite the fact they have never seen someone of the opposite sex naked.
Please tell me that's an exaggeration. This was my first MMO and I was thinking about trying World of Warcraft.
I'm afraid not. I'd hazard a guess that the average age of a world of warcraft player now is bewteen 13-and 25 and like another person posted yes they are bratty kids.

Speaking as someone who played WoW for 5 years and has now stopped for about 6 months, I highly advise you stear clear of WoW. That thing is not a game - it is another life. Just to keep your gear on-par with everyone else expect to sink 20 hours/week minimum after hitting max level (and only assuming you roll with a top guild that can down stuff consistently).
You CAN find guilds without a bunch of youngens, but only in the high-end raidings guilds. Even then, you'd be surprised how childish old people can act in WoW.

Wow is fun for awhile, played it for 5 years... Though the game really doesn't warrant as much attention as it still does now. Your doing the same things over and over, but with different scenery, yet... it's popular. I just don't get WoW anymore.

I like to classify everything, everyone, every situation, and if possible every contingency I can think of.
I'd make a great spy, I'm so classified.
That was a terrible pun wasn't it?

You shouldn't have to deal with harassment ever.

I have it doesn't do any good well so it seems.
but you can be as cool as THIS GUY or THIS GUY.

There were days when I would chalk up 16 hours yeah. Definitely wasn't consistent like that, but I was definitely addicted.
And my paladin was always in the top 5 most-geared on my server. Didn't help much IRL.
