Just never tick off Coderanger. Pretty sure he could wipe all our characters and time he wants! And last I heard, there is NO recovery tool to rebuild our toons.

I had a part in the character transfer code. Get on my bad side and I just might transfer you to some other game! "So captain, how goes the farm.....?"

I'd hate to see Tribble wiped. My original character was copied there, and later deleted from Holodeck (making the Tribble version the last existing version of my first character...).
If he's deleted, I'll be sad. Is there a way to recopy him to Hoilodeck?
It is by will alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts acquire speed, the lips acquire stains, the stains become a warning. It is by will alone I set my mind in motion.

Why would you do that? I'm sorry but that is just stupid. If you read about tribble is says Cryptic has the right to wipe the character at anytime they wish.

Oh, I know. I moved the original character to Tribble and restarted him (having reached max level in less than a month...). I liked having the option of going to Tribble and playing him with his max level, so I could check out skills and such without wasting points or merits, or what have you.
I'm not going to cry over it, it's just sad to see him go.

What's the point of a wipe anyway? Has anyone already asked this question?
im not sure its been said but i would suspect bug cleaning and getting rid of any old codes that mess things up. there are lots of update to tribble and they all start off pretty buggy and with characters been transferred left right and centre going through constant updates, it must come to a point where a wipe is a good idea and start from scratch.
probably more to it than that but that would be my guess

Another reason that they mentioned was that the wanted every to replay the new content missions - which you can't if you already did them. But you could also try copying over the character again, apparantly.
About "corruption" problems - I just saw a neat example in the Tribble Bug Forum. A players Galaxy Refit had suddenly lost the ability to go to full impulse and flew extremely slowly. He discharged the ship and got a new Galaxy Refit, and the problem was gone.
I imagine tons of such errors could occur, and they make reliable testing harder.

I had my characters wiped TWICE in STO!
Once at the end of Closed Beta.. and again at the end of Open Beta.
Did that blasphemer also tell you that the word "gullible" is no longer in the dictionary either? Cuz it is totally true! Check for yourself!
I was under the understanding that the character wipe on Tribble was coming tonight, but... *looks at the clock* ...is anyone even left in the office?
Don't forget the Tribbleites!
Why would tribble be running on human computers?
Wouldn't it be funny if someone made a lil boo boo...

It's not a Fall Out reference. Fall Out was referencing something else.

i always wondered if they realized that we got computer brained people from a computer...
Its a test server and you can copy your latest set of toons right back to it.
