Dev's, could you please let scanning work for Klingons???

This is in the Klingon players forum in some shape or form, but it isn't seeing much notice as a whole so I wanted to post it here in hopes some of the Dev's see it. It something that got fixed in the beta for the Federation side, but not for Klingon's. Ever.

I understand that the Klingon's don't do research and there is no use for them to use the anomalies like the Federation side does. I fully understand that.

BUT

Dev's do you know how frustrating it is to get a "find the derelict ship" mission and you're trying to find something the size of a "pin's head" in the night sky? Not all of those ships work correctly and have their running lights on. Many of the Klingon missions are broken. Such as when you land on a planet and nothing is there. When you beam back up to reset it you find that it doesn't even show up in your mission log.

And often you can fly right by that same ship in space and never see it once.

Or when you have to blow up 8 asteroids (or anything for that matter) and during the battle you managed to get very far off course trying to not get blowed up, and now you have absolutely NO idea where that asteroid you need to destroy once you get rid of the enemy ship because "again" you're looking at nothing but a dark black night and matching stars on your screen.

or my favorite..

Destroy 6 Borg devices, but what makes this even more fun is that often you're on a misty rock shaped/covered planet, with no decipherable map that makes any sense to you (or you're on mushroom world", so you find yourself attempting to wander around blindly hoping eventually you can find what you need to blow up.

See, here scanning should work like it does on the federation side because then, once the anomalies are out of the way, it also finds mission objectives that you need to complete.

Even if the Klingon side can't use 'em, then they could sell them to make a little extra cash, maybe lower the market somewhat on things, but regardless if you can't/won't fix scanning then the Klingon side needs something else to help them find mission objectives so they can complete missions.

:(

    :(

Second this.... it would be nice to know if the mission is broken rather than waste 45 minutes running a whole ground mission to find the final container... again... is stuck underground and unable to be attack.

This would be another step towards me actually playing with my Klingon character.

Maybe I missed it? But in the Search for Spock... wasn't the Klingon ground officer using a Klingon Tricorder? Amazing how they became a race of drunks and gave up on scanning all together.... Who knew alcoholism would destroy the scientific minds in the Klingon empire.... my bad.

Maybe that's what caused the forehead ridges, a really wicked hangover. ;)

Y'all aren't making me want to roll a Klingon anytime soon.... :(

IMHO, if you really want to BETA-test the Klingon faction, on the Holodeck, then go right ahead and roll one.

I've been trying to level 3 Klingon skippers over the past week or so, but with issues that I've encountered with exploration missions that really aren't ready for prime-time on the live server, almost non-existent PVP queues and just the general lack of attention to detail on the Klingon faction, I think you would have to be a TRIBBLE to roll a Klingon, even 5.5 months after release.

    Just my thoughts... :)

I have to agree with this. I was on a, for lack of a better term, "Weedwhacking" mission on Tribble and it took me a bit to find all the "alien weeds" because I can't use the flippin' tricorder and had to wander about like a tourist without a map to find them. It would certainly improve Klingon play if their tricoders could "point" towards a mission objective.

    (Seriously - weedwacking?)

However, I will say that Federation scanners are no better when trying to find an object in space that's NOT an anomoly.

    You would be right:

    Klingon Tricorder Reference Link

To me nothing is more fun than getting the misty planet mission, even if its to kill tribbles, and then you can't see anything in the way of mission objectives. And on some maps you can follow the road and still attempt it, but on others you are just plain hosed.

Thankfully I leveled my Klingon to BG5 early when there were more options for PvP (God I loved ground PVP. Ioved giving out the smack down. I was always good at things like TF and UT ) but they finally gave us PvE missions, but when they did there isn't any scanning so unless you've played the map enough to know where stuff is, are incredibly lucky, or just having nothing better to do than do a grid by grid search for mission objectives, sometimes it is more trouble than it's worth to even attempt these PvE things. :(

Yep, This is one I Agree With 100%. I just Posted this same suggestion yesterday on the Tribble Thread. Klingons only have anomalies now and then, but this would sure help with Next Mission Objective location.

This is one of the things I hate most about playing a Klingon captain. Those exploration missions can get really annoying when you're supposed to find a plant or device that's on a planet littered with foliage or obscured by mist//fog. I don't know how many times I've given up missions where I've spent over 5 minutes searching for that last item...

On the flip side; my Fed captains have absolutely no problems because everything they need for their missions is scannable.

I think the only way to get them to fix the scanners, since they were broken since Beta, is for them to sell them in the C-Store. They can market it as a scanner, high intensity transmitter device.
