Patching issues

So I bought the Steam version of the game back in January, and played the headstart and beta no problems and stopped after they were over. I decided to wait for some patches that addressed my concerns (bugs, lack of non-combat gameplay etc).

Well, now Cryptic has started to address all my issues so I decided to give the game another shot. Redownloaded the client via Steam and went to play. I've got around 2.6GB of patch content to download apparently - the problem is, I seem to be having massive connection issues. The most I can download is about 10MB before my connection fails and it automatically tries to restart.

Tried running the game in Admin mode, same problem it seems. Is there a way to manually download the patches somewhere reliable?

Sorry, but for some unkown reason (probably DRM or user tracking), Cryptic is forcing everyone to use their launcher. They are not providing a completely patch version for download, and they are not offering alternative methods for download. The mosly likely cause is a major problem with the server-software and/or network. The problem has been ongoing for over 2 weeks now, with no end in sight.

There are some other potential causes, though most of these are smoke and mirror attempts and fixing the problem rather than a real fix:

I appreciate the response. I've found some success by disabling a couple of torrent uploads I had going. I should've done that to begin with. However, I was only doing a combined upload of around 20Kb/s, and my connection should've been able to handle the patch download fine, or should've at least maintained the download at a reduced speed as opposed to immediately dropping the connection.

It's highly sensitive to flooding of the upload path, which bittorrent has a habit of doing. There's no good way around that. Nothing other than bittorrent is likely to cause problems there.

I have High Speed access to the Internet.. over two hours and i have just 56% of the patch.. which for me was over 7200MB..

I own and Sub to CO and never have trouble like this with the shared accounts log in client for patches..
