When i recently leveled up i went to upgrade my hallon system from an MK VIII to an MK X,
My problem is this, my current MKVIII says it gives me +22 hazard systems but when i go to look at the MK X is says it only boosts it +15 ?? This has got to be a bug but i cant see the same if i look at other MK VIII on the exchange. Im stuck not knowing what effect the MKVIII is actually having and whether i should upgrade?
Is there any way to see what the systems are doing to my stats? so i can actually see if my MKVIII is actually giving me +22 or its just an item typo?
The Mk VIII is an old console. Cryptic lowered the limit for all science consoles to +15 after a couple of months, but they didn't change the old ones.
That console is worth alot of money now, although I think they are going to be fixed in season 2 (next week). SELL SELL SELL!!!
Yes. on Tribble those "grandfathered" consoles have the same bonus as new ones, but they get listed as "Prototypes" and can be sold for the new Latinum currency. (Currently, this allows you "only" to buy Holo-Emitters with which your ship can look like another NPC ship, for up to 15 mintues total IIRC).
Try to sell them for quick energy credits (assuming people still don't know about this upcoming chance) or enjoy their use for now.
Do you think it will get wiped for season 2? Should i sell now for energy credits or wait and see if i can sell it for latinum?
Don't worry.
To explain - a character can be copied to Tribble. A character on Tribble can get all kind of weird things happening to him (like a Dev leveing him, some terrible bug that corrupts all character data and takes away your energy credit), or he can be deleted, and it won't matter for your original on Holodeck. The character on Tribble can never be copied over to Holodeck. (Alone that a Dev can level you up there would make it "wrong" to do that, but the entire problem of possible corrupted data and test-only stuff would be, too.)
What season 2 will mean is that all old consoles you might still have will get the values that new consoles of that mark and rarity have now. They will also get marked as "Prototype", and then you can sell them to one of these Ferengi vendors for Latinum. (Latinum will be introduced with season 2, too. You can win or lose it playing Dabo and you can buy some new types of items for it.) Or you keep using them with their new values.
