Well I just wanted to say stop wasting time doing silly thing cryptic. I.e stop making bridges, hallways everything that just for show. it might have a funcion later but not now and there are other thign with need your attention!!!!!!
Please spend more time making more content for the game more missions/ interesting missions. not the same go here kill 6 enenmy squads etc.
idea for new missions, i watch a lot of star trek and one of the most common missions is an away time will go some where and get captured and they have to get out and back to the ship.
Or you could be in a space battle and you get over run by enemy ships and you get boarded you and your crew have to fight your way through each deck, you could have certain thing s to do like eng stop them for causing the warp core to overload etc.
Please fix more of the bugs in the game instead of just adding rubbish stuff that at this time is not for anything just to look at.
Also please add real voices, i could not believe when I first started this game that you have to read (not saying i cannot) but most games these days will have voice overs.

considering one of the largest requests was for interiors they are doing what we have asked them to do. interiors are also the first step to actually having missions on your ship and making the game feel more star trek.

have you played any of the new missions on tribble, because the ones i have are not just kill 5 of those, scan five of that.
Please fix more of the bugs in the game instead of just adding rubbish stuff that at this time is not for anything just to look at.
the guys that do the artwork and design the 'rubbish' stuff do not fix bugs or code the game. they are the artists. even if they stopped doing all the flashy stuff it does not make the game get made any faster. if they have time to design bridges and costumes then why not do them.
Also please add real voices, i could not believe when I first started this game that you have to read (not saying i cannot) but most games these days will have voice overs.
VO costs a fair amount of money and is not very cost effective, whilst i would like to see more VO. Many single player games do have it, but few MMO's do.
I would like to see sdip interiors, but they need to be normal scale. Am I the only one having problem with a bridge being big as a football stadium? I have visited my bridge once and will not do it again. It looks so incredibely ugly... If those interiors are the same insanity, I will not spend a minute there...
I dont agree with the OP, they need to work on ALL fronts.
For the Interriors... i dont like what i see. Not even a little bit.
In short let's just say i dont feel like i'm inside my Starship with these oversized rooms,
it feels like i'm on a Starbase!
Big friggen hallways with 100+ NPC's running in circles... that feels like the DS9 promenade deck... not like the hallways of TNG or VOY.
And the tiny sliding doors feel completely wrong compared to the HUGE rooms.
At least make it feel like they fit together...
Voiceovers and 3D Space Combat are two battles we will NEVER win against Cryptic.
I still want those things to happen.... Voiceovers at least still seems possible.
And dont tell me it is to expensive! The whole friggen game is to expensive for what it is...
i payed $75 or what for Mass Effect 2. Best VO's ever! (they had Worf!)
STO has cost me at least $200 by now.
MMO's are the biggest cash mashines in the Gaming industry... so dont tell me anything is to expensive!
People accept it because "most MMO's" dont have it... that is the real problem.
If people wouldn't play it if there are no VO's then it would be default by now!

sorry but comparing one game to another is pointless as the number of people that buy them is the contributing factor. i suppose every film ever made should have the budget and special effects of avatar just because avatar did it?
bioware are a monster of a company with a loyal following, they can afford to spend money left right and centre on VO. they know roughly how many copies they are going to sell and budget themselves accordingly, they did not do it from scratch they built themselves up as a major company doing it piece at a time. there teams are huge compared to sto
and for a single player game its also a one time deal, they dont have to keep the game running or server maintenance or adding new content. the new content they do add is expensive for the time it takes to complete. as its a pc and console game they also have a much wider market. they said sto had over 100'000 people about a month after launch. mass effect sold 500'000 copies in america on its FIRST DAY alone on the xbox, not even including pc sales.
once you take the voice over away the game itself is relatively short. its flashy and cool as hell but there is less gameplay there than you think.
Cryptic only have a certain amount of money, and money the spend doing VO work is money lost somewhere else.
'ive spent loads of money so cryptic must have loads of money' is far too simplistic a view to suddenly suggest they have cash floating around in droves to spend doing VO work.
I posted this idea a dozen or so times by this point, but it bears repeating in hopes that a Dev takes note...
Build ship interiors TO-SCALE. Give us a 1st person perspective as an option when on board our ships. Leave in the gigantic hallways/rooms as an option for people that like it (is there anyone that actually does?).
By giving us first person view, you can build the ship interiors to a realistic size without worrying about stupid camera issues. At least give us this as an option. I feel a larger % of people dislike the huge interiors than like them.
or they can input a no clipping mode into the camera like almost EVERY other game does, meaning if the camera is too far back that it hits a wall or roof, instead of making the rooms bigger, the camera goes through the wall and any obstructions between the camera and your character turn transparent...
A simple function, used by at least 50% of the gaming industry...

and now that you jumped on me for dropping the name Bioware i'll tell you that the 15 YEARS old DOS game "Star Trek - A Final Unity" allready had Voiceovers and multiple choice.

Ahh yes, but DOS games are very simplistic compared to modern offerings; for instance, that DOS game could've been programmed entirely by 4 people - you need that many for a single mission (beacon, artist, 2x programmer)
The interiors are seriously TERRIBLE that escort ship looks bigger than DS9. And we all know what they are gonna do.... keep em that way cuz they're too lazy to make anymore improvements hellz were lucky they gave us the indoor football stadiums for our ships better than no interior I guess. <Even if they are all exactly the same>

Single player game, with no need to ever have the actors come back to record more.
If your captain was to speak, everyone would have a different preference for how their captain sounded so that's multiple recordings of the same stuff by a bunch of different actors.
I do miss the boff voices we had in beta and wouldn't mind having them back if they fix whatever the problem was, but as to voices reading me mission text, I read faster than they talk so I'd just be clicking thru the text so it isn't that big a deal to me.
Stop making excuess why things cannot be done. Money, money bloody money. We if they dont spend more money to improve this game then they wont be having any money. On the ventrilo I go on with my fleet a lot of them are going to starwars when it comes out.
It would not be so bad if cryptic fixed the bugs they are aware of there are bugs that im still seeing in my game today which still has not been fixed.
I send bug reports and all i get back is a computer reply. Atleast take the time to send a personal reply.
No I have not done any of the klingon missions because im wating for it to come out in the real game. But from what I can see there is hardly any new content for the FED and only 8 missions new for klingon.
So we will all be waiting to get season 3 and as season two is only just coming its going to be awhile before they have more stuff.
There are so many little things they can do to improve things and they have not done them. I lobve startrek and hope they dont destroy it for me.
This is my first MMO game and it might be the last.
Dont take itt hat im just complaiining there are a lot of thing in the game I think a lot but there are a lot of little thing which really bug me that they ahve not fixed.
Dont get me started on DABO why the game should be so good that you dont need to spend time away from it, ie you should want to.
I look forward to interiors. I can vision a 1v1 battles where you have the option of leading an away team to att sub systems, or defend against the borading party.
It does seem a bit odd that interior functionality is the largest requested featured and yet, aside from trophy cases, there are no signs of functionality on Tribble. (It was 43.20% at last call)
Discrepancy?
They are beautiful interiors but there's not much substance at the moment (especially with the research minigame delayed for indefinite redesign).
you posted on a public forum and i responded by explaining why things cant be done like you want. if you dont want to hear the answers then thats up to you but im not making excuses im trying to explain it too you.

yes money makes the world go round. they are a business trying to make money. they have told us that its too expensive to make vo and continue to make the content that they have been doing. they are not going to potentially lose money over a minor feature. i know you said it your first mmo but all the other major mmos do not use voice overs. TOR is going to be the first and their budget is huge. atari are in debt, they dont have money to throw around.
It would not be so bad if cryptic fixed the bugs they are aware of there are bugs that im still seeing in my game today which still has not been fixed.
I send bug reports and all i get back is a computer reply. Atleast take the time to send a personal reply.
the reason they dont send personal replys is that they are up to about 900'000 on the bug report ticket. replying to each and every one would actually slow down the bug fixing. also fixing bugs is far more complex than people realise, and some take an age to fix.
No I have not done any of the klingon missions because im wating for it to come out in the real game. But from what I can see there is hardly any new content for the FED and only 8 missions new for klingon.
there are about 6 diplomatic missions, the new first contact missions, i think 5 or 6 high end missions accessible to both klingons and feds, a new fleet action and 6 weekly episodes starting august that are available to both feds and klingons. edit - plus the Klingons 8 so both sides get around 20 missions each in total, albeit some are the same mission available to each.
that is about the rate that they can put new missions out. thats it. they cant make any more without spending more money they dont have to hire more people

yep they did and spectrum spent a fortune on that game
voice over work is expensive, more so if you use the actual characters likeness.
