Under your Wing Program for Admirals

This is an idea is for having random assigned players being under your command from Star Fleet.

This like a ice breaker for Admirals to meet new people that could form friends or new fleets in the game.
A Admiral would be a peer advisor for any low ranking player who wants one. When another player sign up with a NPC. It searchs for Admirals in the program and assign them to an Admiral.

What more could you gain from this?
  • Maybe you gain a buff if you ever team up.
  • Missions that needs many ship or different ranks.
  • Sharing items that can only be past down or up.
  • Able to to tactics after training with each other.

What other ideas come with this?

I think Cryptic is looking for some Ideas to fit into Team or Group Development. Perhaps this can fit into what they are looking for.

I would absolutely hate to be randomly assigned to some random person. no thanks. I dont want anyone controlling how I play.... I hate fleets who try and enforce a uniform code too..... you aint telling me how to play.

... sorry, but that just doesnt sound fun.

    just my 2 cts.

You miss understood. Only people who sign up to do this program will be match up to some one else. And they won't be controlling you and telling you what you should do every sec. It more like teaming up with the person.

Who said it was going to be enforce you to change your whole game life? This not like fleets.

Also Low ranking level can learn a few things from upper ranks.

The whole Idea is to help new players. Have friendship from lower and upper classes and so on.

I think we could organize this ourselves anyway as a community. All it takes is a few characters that are created and purposefully left on different stages/locations in STO, to act as Greeters and Ambassadors to newcomers.

Imagine going into the tutorial and meeting a Starfleet Officer who greets you and at your request puts you in touch with a higher-level character to be your Mentor. Higher-level characters could sign up as Mentors, and the whole thing could be managed entirely without Cryptic's involvement. It just takes initiative.

In my opinion, a bunch of Fleets could organize this effort quite beautifully.

Only problem with doing it as a community is...

If we do on the forums only. There always people who are new player who never read or post to forums.

If we have a person in-game. He\She will be bored from standing around at space dock. Plus if that person placed ads in in zone chat. Then they may be seen as a spammer or a fleet recruiter.

    ----
Best thing is to have a NPC and a friendly note that is shared to new players and new admirals. To let them know about this program.
