When i started my character back at headstart I was named "Q'latus" and everything was fine.
One day I decided to rename my character to "Collective Primary Adjunct 13" and now I have tons of problems.
First being that when i goto my skills menu and look at the drop-down box for highlighting skills its Shows BOTH my old and my new character names with different abilitys.
Then there is the problem where I can NOT seem to do any AID the Planet missions by myself. I NEVER get a dialog option for them since I got the name change except when i'm in a group and they initiate it first.
Now I have the same issues with my toon on Tribble when i copy my toon over and I can't ever seem to get a GM in game to help me and putting in tickets does not seem to work.
Please Help!
I paid for the name change and it has been probelems ever since and Will NOT start over. I want to keep this character.
1) Change you nickname to match your real name. It doesn't match and shows both because the nick doesn't change with the name change if you don't change it too.
2) Aid the Planet! I bet you're just unlucky. I spent hours the other day trying to do that Aid the Planet mission by entering anomalies then exiting right away when it wasn't one. Sometimes it just doesn't come up forever.
To get help from the GM team you need to put in a help request via the in-game interface or the support portal.
Did you read his post, or was this just a canned response? I assume the latter because he's already stated he's tried to get GM help! Several times, I assume, given how much of a huge problem he has.

I don't know what to tell you then. If you are clicking request GM support and its making "report a bug" tickets something is seriously borked. Have you tried making a ticket through the website?

I don't see the problem. So, your old name appears in the drop down menu for the skills. Personally I never even use that drop down menu.
How does this negatively affect you? I mean, who cares if it's got the old name in an optional menu?
And I don't buy that the Aid the Planet missions are connected to this.
My ground abilities seemed tied to my old name.
Also, I didn't have problems with aid the planets till this name change happened, now I can only complete them if i'm in a team and someone else picks them up.
At the same time i did my name change I also lost the ability to change the Away team. Now the Boffs are greyed out and I cant select who goes with me, even when i am by myself.

Yeah I know, which is why I posted here out of frustration, But I am starting to get flamed for no reason.
I wouldn't have to post here if they gave me better options to get a hold of a representative.
Also I only posted in these forums because this particular forum is the most high profile, it seems to get responses faster, where the other forums dont usually get responses at all or very seldom.
And if anyone from the CS, GM or QA teams is reading this. I really HATE your file-and-forget bug report system. That automated response message sits on our bug report screens forever. If it's an issue we're concerned about it gives us NO visibility and it's HIGHLY frustrating.
I really wish you guys would give us more visibility here. It would be AWESOME if we had status milestones such as:
Bug in queue for review
Bug verified by QA Team
Bug not verified by QA Team (Please provide more info)
Verified Bug in queue for fix
Bug Fix under internal testing
Bug Fix on Tribble Test Shard
Bug Fixed (Bug report automatically closed and taken out of our list)
It would take the teams handling our bug reports two seconds to update a status box as it moves through the system. This would also make players HAPPY instead of frustrated to hell and lighting up the forums.
I hate to have to say this... but, you wouldn't still be waiting if this game had GM support like World of Warcraft. I only had to use in game support a few times, but it was always relatively quick and efficient. Even at random hours.
Example: I was once flying around in one of the level 80 areas and spotted a rare dragon spawn. Its been long enough that I don't remember the name of the region, it was one of the mountainous snowy ones. Anyway, this rare spawn was on an exceptionally long respawn timer. IIRC, it had a 10% chance of spawning, once, every 6 hours. This happened at around 7pm PST.
After a fairly epic battle, the dragon died.... and fell off the little plateau I'd been fighting it on, and then unceremoniously wedged itself into the cliff face in such a way that it was impossible to loot.
I put in a ticket. And circled the area for a while, trying everything I could think of to loot the corpse. I was unsuccessful, and after about 15 minutes I flew off again looking for whatever I had been looking for to begin with. I hadn't even gotten to a suitable altitude when I got a tell.
"Hello, this is GM so and so. I see you have a problem, do you have a moment to talk about it now?" I did. And we then rehashed the problem again, mainly, I assume to verify I hadn't just been pulling things out of... random places.
Within 5 minutes of that, I was politely asked if "I was out of combat" and to I had bag space for 3 items, and to let him know when I was ready.
That was it.
The GM was exceptionally polite, professional, and courteous. I had my problem solved (granted, its not as complicated as this) quickly and efficiently. And it all happened during peek hours.

I didn't see anything on your character that would prevent you from getting the aid the planet missions. If that is still occurring after we get the name issue fixed, then let us know and we can take another look.

Probably because the GM who received it closed the ticket and turned it into a bug report. That happens to every single GM ticket I've filed for issues with my character. I've just given up on filling out GM tickets for issues with my toons.

the short name will be the one on the tab of the character status screen..... the full name will be right above your paper doll and stats.
are they different?
that is probably whats going on.
....also did you log off...and change the name on the login screen ? or jsut from the edit record ingame ?

This was done months ago. It was the Paid Character name change where you have to buy the token from the C-Store.
So it world be the Nickname and also the name that shows when you select what character to play.
The name isn't the problem, it was changed just fine. Its the bugs that came with it.
Just can't seem to get a GM or DEV in game to help, so I'm trying another way.

what does the "First", "Middle", and "last" say ?

billing should get priority.
even eve online has same hour billing response.
they even have direct contact with GM's if you file a stuck petition.
I 've made GM requests, they don't work. What i've shown you is how they are showing up.
I have tried both ways. I think i'm S.O.L.
