the enterprise is still the flag ship
the flag ship isnt necessarily the most advanced ship
look at the British navy there flag ship is the HMS Victory the oldest working ship still out there, its a first rate built in the 1700.
also the enterprise that kirk commanded was that flag ship and the excelsior was around
so the enterprise E is still the flag

is Startrek it is. Entreprise as always been, except for prototypes
The Flagship should be an NPC vessel. We should be able to serve on it, as in get missions to do as if it were a starbase... However, it could move around from week to week, always being in a different place.
Maybe this could be the second weekly mission series: STO: Flagship..

well if we can't fly it at least have a mission were we escort it or be onboard (even better)
It would be nice to see the Enterprise docked in sol somewhere. Would give the game abit more atmosphere than seeing npc "escort, cruiser" ships flying around aimlessly.
Also would be nice for fleets to be able to appoint a "Command Ship" Representing there fleet
I would like to see the Enterprise E in STO at somepoint.
I imagine we'll eventually have a mission that lets us discover how and why it went missing. You'd think after a year with no contact, they'd commission a new Enterprise and declare the old one lost, but Voyager taught us that Starfleet doesn't give up that easily.
The Enterprise E from ST first contact to nemesis is the current flagship. I hope they have missions that include it, but i don't think it should be a hub. You'd figure since the ship was solo most of it's life, it'd stay solo.
sooo? your saying you want 99% of players flying around in the federation flagship?
oh you just gave me an idea. pick random players every week or so to have access to it, or something
it can't be an easily accessible ship just like the others, otherwise there would be too many floating around and totally ruin the meaning of a 'flagship'
Who'd own it... because there can only be ONE flag ship
Should never be flown by anyone other than a GM, if not an NPC. And GM should be anonymous. Don't break the immersion, as if and when the Enterprise is in the game, it would be for immersion purposes. Just my 2 cents.
However, designating a fleet flagship, logically your fleet leader's ship would be nice.

Commissioned, not working.. she is concreted in, she aint working.
AS we all know Enterprise has always been the federation Flagship because it always had the best and latest equipment.
Now in STO we got ship that could be flagship let's say all the T5
But why Cryptic wouldn't do/make a Flagship. a Flagship that would'nt be either a cruiser, an escort or a science one.
but in stade it will have all the 4 slot for all 3 consoles. and according to what the captain (Eng, tac, Sc) is, you get extra features.
also with different skin that can make it look like either a science, escort or Cruiser.
TOS didn't call the Enterprise the flagship though. Until that ill-conceived prequel, it was Kirk and co who made the ship the legend that later it was the flagship.
Still the NCC-1701-E, it hasn't been seen in about a year, however, it vanished while investigating something.
Vanished while investigating something? Sound like a good idea for an episode to me...get Data and the Enterprise in game (but dont include Data if you can get likeness rights...otherwise that would be total BS)

Ironically it would be easiest for data out of all the old cast to explain a new look. 'I just got a new face installed. How's it look?'
Yeah, I have to agree with the posters here. The flagship should be controlled by an NPC lest we ALL end up in a horrible cliche of flying around in 'Flagships'. Sorry OP, I just can't agree with ya.
Though, if you want that flagship feeling, grab the 2000 point Galaxy in the C-Store.
If they not gonna give each one of us the Flagship at least a ship with the possibility of using all 4 power of all Bo and all 4 slot for all consol
I would like to have OMNI slots: Meaning, if I want to have my Tactical BOF to use it's lv 3 or 4 abilities on a Cruiser, I can!!!! Otherwise, WHY HAVE BOF ABILITIES AT ALL WHEN YOU CAN'T USE THEIR 1/3 OF THEIR ABILITIES! So I get your point there, but having a 'Flagship' is... simply a 'Meh' moment.
Who'd own it... because there can only be ONE flag ship
The whole Flagship thing, at least how Star Trek does it, seems kind of silly to me. In an actual fleet a Flagship is the ship that the Flag Officer is aboard. For example, in the Sixth Fleet, whatever ship the Admiral commanding that fleet is on is the Flagship. If it's a carrier, the carrier is the Flagship. If the carrier is sinking and the Admiral is abandoning ship, he will choose a new ship to be his Flagship. And yes, if he transfers to the new ship aboard a lifeboat, while he is on that lifeboat IT is the Flagship. A navy has as many Flagships as it has fleets. And for a ship to be a Flagship, it has to have a Flag Officer aboard, meaning an Admiral.
In Star Trek, the Flagship seems to be whichever ship happens to be Starfleet's favorite ship at the time.

yes, yes, yes, lol
if no what should be he Flagship?
because B4/now Data is piloting the flagship...

but yeah i like the weekly STO: Flagship thing
if thay do that thay will probbly have to wright data off as the Capt. so thay don't have to buy the rights to data

Not until they fix the Sovereign model.
CapnLogan said he'd be working on that class next.

Jokes aside, yes, data should look like data.
