An interesting article from a popular websites featuring all kinds of MMOs out there.
Fortunately, it covered a nice coverage on STO's C-Store practice and the possible outcome of the future of STO if (God forbid), STO decided to go F2P.

Dev, please delete this thread. There are already several threads regarding this article, which i haven't realized.

Its more of a rant against micro transactions, and since its proven to be a sound business practice dont expect it to stop. Seriously, a million people paying a dollar to get a new bridge is still a million dollars.
There's another thread covering this very article.

No way! I did a quick search before posting the link, but I didn't see any. Please link for us so I can avoid redundancy/possible lock from the dev.
Perhaps there are none in this forum because GMDestra keeps moving C-Store threads to the C-Store forum below? Except for the offensive ones which are locked.
By the way.. That was a poor article.. It pretends that the 9 ship costumes are really "whole" unique ships and compares them to DDO classes.. Which is wrong. Whole classes are not the same as ship costumes which dress up an existing model (GalX is different of course).
In addition it makes no mention of the fact that DDO sells the 32 point character template.. Which is pretty much essential if you plan on playing.. As any 28 point build stinks. Yes you can get 32 point builds unlocked in game.. After a year or more of grinding.. Maybe. Due to this many people who play DDO purchase the 32 point templates for cash right away as it is (somewhat) essential.
I also think the silly hyperbole in the article could have been left out..
It reads like a long forum post here... Heck.. It is probably one of the posters on this board pining away for more "free" stuff which the current C-Store purchasers have already paid for.
But whatever.

Sorry for sounding like a punk when I responded. I just want to point people in the right direction (dstahl even made a reference to one of the jokes form the c-store forum as he reads them).
Ah it's all good. Much appreciated for the links.
he also makes it out to be like HALF of the game is in the store, not true.
