Im using a new Inspiron 1545.
On-board video with shared memory of 1gb
3gb RAM
Pantium dual core t4400 2.2ghz
WIndows 7 64x

I know I know....lame but I can still run the game, surprisingly. With everything on low except resolution I still get poor FPS. Lighting quality is what I am really missing.....seems everything is more detailed with a higher light.

I ask all this because I am about to grab a new laptop and curious if anyone is running on a machine around the same specs as:

Intel Core i7 processor 720QM (1.60GHz-2.8GHz Quad-Core)
Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5 VRAM
Memory: 8GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM, 4 x SODIMM (up to 8GB)
Storage: 1TB 7200RPM hard drive (500GB x 2) dual HDD

I would like any insight on this if possible. Curious if I will be able to run the game with at least max lighting.

The "max" settings are ridiculously high, and far beyond the capability of any current system you're likely to encounter. Future-proofing, etc.

Not that I've tried, but you should have no trouble running at reasonable settings on hardware like that. Don't expect miracles from a laptop though.

Oh my god....the change is incredible. If anyone wants some footage of the difference I will be happy to accommodate.

Didnt ask if I could handle max setting but after some tweaking it seems I miraculously can run max everything on my laptop....

I can post some fraps...working on it now

It'll work in small areas, and die like a hog in PvP maps. Mostly it's the detail throttles that have to be kept back.
