tier one pvp unplayable

I'm sure there has been many threads a long this line, so ill try to keep this sort and sum things up:

1:the tier 1 BOP has SIGNIFICANTLY higher survivability, due to its turn rate, having better shields (By default) and being able to slot more than 1 EpTS. They live easily 5-6 times longer even if tractor beamed.

2: they have vastly superior firepower, due to turn rate, cannons + the bonus 15 power to weapons. the damage output is probability 2-3 time higher than the fed tier 1 (prob contributing to 1 as well as a result)

3:uneven teams frequently mean that (thanks to 1 and 2) matches are 3vs7 (even though its meant to be 5vs5)

sure, every now then it 'works' out for the feds, and the Klingon's attack 1 at a time, but this is not good for either side, its boring on the Klingon side, and unplayable on the fed side.

I really hope some devs spend a afternoon playing some tier 1 pvp, and see how bad it is. The end result of this is no one playing pvp at this tier, and some Klingon's becoming bad players (people who thing its ok to sit there with 0 movement).

Sure higher tier stuff needs some balancing, it always will, but with so few skills and options, not to mention that its the first pvp experience for new players tier one should be a lot tighter and enjoyable

Anyone have any ideas what could be done to fix it? other than overhalling the tier 1 BoP I dont know what could be done

You think that's something? I received a DVD from Netflix the other day and it was broken in 3 pieces. Now that is unplayable.

Like all things it comes down to who is flying the ships, and they are trying to fix the queue issues...

but like Zorena said.....who gives a **** about T1 pvp?

all new players. Its all good if latter on it gets better, but if tier 1, the first impression is that of a unbalanced, broken, and unplayable mess new players (who are pvp fans) will not stick around to find out if higher tiers are fun

A fair point, but like I said, the devs are fixing the queuing issues so the primary problem is being fixed.

    This.

t2 is where the fun begins, although with the babyklink I'm having a nightmare getting matches. I'm obviously on at the wrong time.

your right bigbad, and it falls under the same general thing. Tier one is arguably the most important tier in the game, yet at the moment its mediocre for feds, and boring as all hell for Klingon's. It shouldn't be focused on at the cost of others, but it should be just as good, if not better to get people hooked. WaR tier one was fantastic (the rest of the game wasn't as good, but by then you have brought the game and not just using the trial)

    This. LOL.
Starting a new toon was not fun at all until I hit Lt Commander. I did some PvP at tier one because the PvE at this level was too dry the second time around. It seemed to favor Klinks, but t wasn't that bad IMO.

I gotta admit tho, it's possible we're looking at this from the viewpoint of experience.

Went into a t1 match at one point and every fed light cruiser was using a minelayer in the rear slot.

Now, normally I'd have a good old chuckle over that.

But at that level you're not supposed to know any better.

Doesn't really make much difference what they equip on their ships at t1. The feds are still going to lose badly.

T2 is probably the best PvP in the game T3 is very good as well though.

I was able to get matches in both during primetime without any problem.

During the morning however it was a lot slower.

T2-T4 is a lot of fun, if not scarce at times.

Tier three has been my favorite so far. Tier two was fun too and so far tier 4 has been fun though the PUG factor can make for some pretty bad teams, lol.
