Since low level pvp hardly exist anymore its not viable for leveling up and it slows down the leveling up for federation players , how about adding some other incentive to get federation players back to pvp so klingons actually cant start leveling up again instead of grinding our slowed down pve content that was adjusted back when pvp popped every time you pressed you wanted to pvp. Or you could make klingon PVE match the time it takes for a fed to level up by pve....
This is prolly why we are lacking numbers kling side aswell its way to slow now as everything was balanced out when game was new , they nerfed pvp exp cause we got pvp to fast and toned down our pve as well.... now on the other hand its changed no pvp mostly other then high level pvp cause of the incentive the pvp marks for purple gear ...
As IMO the entire PvP mechanic is broken Cryptic would have to do some serious updates here.
A PvP court for learned players and one for casual pvpler would be good.
the weekly missions that lauch in august will scale to your level so klingons can use that to help through the lower levels
i know that does nothing to help pvp but it will still help the levelling process
personally i think some new maps would help immeasurable. i love doing the capture and hold maps, but some new backgrounds or goals would attract people.
also how about the chance for pvp rewards (loot drops) from winning matches to ada greater incentive to play, along with scoreboards to track the best pvpers and our own stats. accolades could also be linked to pvp damage, wins and kills, points captured
go one step further and add some costume pieces and titles for unlocking these rewards. at the moment there is no reason to do pvp other than people enjoy it but often enjoyment is linked to rewards. its time to start rewarding pvpers
point is the pve and exp got adjusted klingon side to compensate for us leveling way faster then the fed side .. now that its the other way around it should be adjusted back so atleast new players to the klingon side actually would stay and play klingon.
We now got 2 sides in the game 1 pve side that ignore pvp unless they get something from it and 1 side that pvp cause they want the challenge of human opponents ... but that is dependant on that the ones that dont wanna pvp wihout getting anything for it to get equal level up speed...
It cant work like that eaven a 10 year old will understand that... its a design flop a planning mistake fix it..

There are a number of other factors into why PvP is so incredibly unpopular:
Faction Population Differences (FvF takes less time to start usually, due to fewer KDF - who leave as the queues get worse each day)
Buried in the Interface (I can't tell you how many people actually believe you have to fly to Eti Eridani to start a PvP map - partly because the queue is buried)
Poorly implemented and designed interface (doesn't scale well to new factions, maps, or game modes)
Long-standing imbalance issues drove many away (anyone remember the days when Feedback Pulse & VM were king?)
Lack of Variety (C&H and Cracked are virtually 90% of the PvP experience).

Bottom line is no reward no one will do it. That goes for most of the pvp'rs to ....

I agree that the rewards need to be rebalanced for KDF (I'm leveling my alt right now).
At the same time, there are a myriad of problems are working against PvP play.
(as for creating out own content, I hope UGC can support PvP map creation).

Im not beeing hopeful at all by the time the UGC is out this game wount have many klingons left and not much pvp. I myself i love pvp i love the challenge i actually well i like to get killed as long as i learn from it :P it improves my pvp experience ,but most ppl dont think like they wanna win and win hard fast and get their reward... I eaven want risk in game without risk the rewards are basically pointless as well , just look what happens when some maxed level player have gotten all their purple gear they gonna basically stop pvp'n.
Oh and i remember when UGC came to COH/COV i called for pvp misisons in it , boy was i flamed.
I asked the player creating the misison could toggle so that an player from the opposite side could accpet to be the end boss in that mission basically play the npc.
It would be nice if there was at least a bandaid fix for this, such as doubling or tripling the XP rewards for Klingon PVP and Empire Defese/Explores, so it's not a total chore to level up. Seriously.. I had more fun grinding in EverQuest than trying to level another Klingon character in the current environment and lack of players.

Honestly, UGC tools for PvP do wonders for the lifespan of a game.
Think of Starcraft and Warcraft 3's map editors and the longevity they've added to those titles. (I remember when a friend got Starcraft for the N64 - long after it launched on the PC).
UGC could use that feature to spice up PvP.
The KDF has a ton of reasons to explain its lower population numbers but I won't get into it right now (there are threadnaughts on the forums discussing why already).

Devs, Everquest is the epitome of long leveling times. Let's help a Klingon out on this issue.

i totally agree lots of threads and lot of potential beeing mismanaged...
Now cryptic if they faced with low subs numbers and thats the cause of this heavy pushing the cstore they should remember how many ppl that actually had accounts and such and wonder what made them leave , could it be they pushed a skeleton game hoping it would stay afloat with startrek fans? or is this just a quick money grab while making the next game . Its not hard to loose players and subs the hard thing is convincing them to comeback !

Part of the issue is that the community can be a little disorganized (especially since such a small portion of the game's population uses the forums).
The other one is prioritizing. I do not envy the dev's constant state of planning and shuffling content due to technical issues or IP approval concerns.
I think it would be appreciated if the developers could give up a 3 question poll for short, mid, and long term options to guide development.
The ranking of each question's items would determine where it would fall into Season-wise.
However, dstahl has had some very encouraging interviews as of late. No definite timelines but "guesstimates" that starbases and UGC would be here sooner rather than later (even suggesting under 9 months away).

Sorry at this point putting anything into the cstore before real content to a skeleton of a game for me is the wrong statement especillay for a monthly paid subs game . No matter what he says and promises its from cryptic they talk big and latley thats all the have been dooing talk and promise.... as long as we pay our subs now they eaven want us to pay in the cstore ???? cause there prolly isent enugh subs left in the game..... thats just skinning whats left of a corpse to make the most profit before its gone...
I'm not sure what the OP is getting at. I'm a low level (Lt. Cmdr 4) and PvP hasn't been a problem at all for me. In fact, over the last few days I've been yanked into PvP battles so much that I was unable to complete even a sinlge PvE mission.
The only real issue I'm having with PvP is that I'm not returned to a "saved" position in my PvE mission, and so have to fight it all over again. So I have to avoid queueing for PvP whenever I want to get through a fight with the computer.
I really have never run across any significant delays in levelling as a Klingon recently. I started out a new Klingon alt a couple of weeks ago and am a Captain as of yesterday, and that's with about a 5 days not playing too. The PvP queue I've never really noticed as being significantly long. I usually drop in for 3 games (C&H, Solar Wind, and Planet core) and usually pick one of them up while I'm off running a daily or nebula mission somewhere, usually when I'm almost done with it and have to start the whole thing over too.
As for PvP variety, I do agree that it's rare I end up getting anything but C&H and if it wasn't for the variety of playstyles encountered (some close-fought battles, but usually lop-sided Klingon victories) it would be pretty boring.
Drawing from other Trek games I've played over the years, here's some suggestions to the devs for some quick PvP and multiplayer PvE games:
Kobayashi Maru -- You have to reach a disabled ship, spend time rescuing the crew (with downed shields for the transporters), and then get out before your opponents whack you. One Fed player vs. a variable number of Klingon players (put a random timer after the first Klingon player joins the scenario and there is a Fed player present to add up to 5 Klingons total). Score is based how long you manage to live, with a huge win if you manage to actually rescue the Kobyashi Maru.
Base Attack/Defense -- The battles along the Neutral Zone tend to be rather dull affairs without some point to defend. Plenty of bases on each side of the zone to battle over. Already proven it can be done with the DS9 scenarios, just make the bases smaller.
Convoy Escort/Attack -- One side is charged with getting the freighters to their destination, the other has to destroy them.
Distress Call -- Make this an open instance with PvP involved. One side can issue a distress call based on some criteria (60% damage, more powerful opponent, etc.) that opens the instance to reinforcements from both sides for a limited time. Anyone nearby sees a new color "cloud" (like Enemy Contact) and the first few random number of ships to drop in join the fight, any rank.
PvE events:
Planetary Evacuation -- Similar to a distress call scenario but only one side involved. A major calamity is underway and a planet will be destroyed. Any number of ships can pop in to the instance to evacuate the planet. Number of civilians transported is based on your ship size (some multiple/percentage of your crew size). You have to get to the planet, beam up survivors (time bar) and then get them out of the system (another time bar before you're allowed to re-enter the instance). This can be an hours or days long event that all players of one side can be involved in.
Variation -- thrown in a PvP element as part of an invasion attempt by the other side, adding in the convoy escort element.
There are tons more ideas that seem to be readily implementable with the tools available. More content please?

Im betting u werent around when had instant pvp pops and actuallye leveld faster then feds cause we got more pvp then them , this is why pvp xp got nerfed klings leveld to fast this is allso why our pve got nerfed cause we leveld to fast in pvp so they chopped down all our exp gains...

HOpefully this is gonna be adressed soon we gonna need an incentive to get feds to pvp in masses again at lower levels or we gonna need a huge INFLUX of pve misisons and story content to get more players to our side either way it all boils down to cutting the grind for klingon new comers.
on a side note to players thinking there isent much information about klingon ships here is a link for you to enjoy http://home.comcast.net/~ststcsolda/klingons/klingons.html Doh looks like cryptic isent allowed to use FASA designs but still its a good read :P

No doubt.
Anyway, that link has some good stuff there. I hope the devs visit it for clear cut ideas about style. That is of course if they are not trying to reimagine the Klingon aesthetics. Accordingly if they are, they should be up front about it.

Well if you look at their current ship they sticking to the klingon design paragdim wich is good :P
I deleted my Klink simply because whenever I looked at the queues, there was nothing going on. Every time I logged in. I wasn't going to hide out in the T'Ong Nebula or the Khaless expanse til I hit a captain's rank just to catch up with everyone else.

Yeah this is the main problem for our pvp leveling the feds have no incentive to pvp at theese leves they get more exp running deep space encouters wich is faster then anything klings have both pvp and pve..
I started another Klingon alt to run through the new stuff in 2.0 level appropriate. Lieutenant PVP was hard to come by, but it wasn't hard to get to LC with only a few games played. LC hasn't been that bad the last two days. I've had arenas popping every 8-10 minutes, Cap and Hold a little longer. There are even people queueing up for KvK.
So its not that bad. Not much worse than when I levelled my first Klingon at release. That may be based on the time when I play, though. YMMV.
Im very new to STO here--have played with the demo and just got the actual game. Ive also have been reading the forums a bit, so Im aware of both the frustrations of many people who primarily play Klingons and the fact that a lot of this has to do with game content/design. Ive also seen a lot of the threads about PvP frustrations more generally.
The OP also points out (at least to me) that theres a community problem here too, and maybe the only way to fix that is to insert some official motivations into the game, but Id also like to believe that this isnt just about Cryptic fixing things. I havent played any MMOs before, so forgive me if this is so totally naïve that it makes your heads explode, but I would think that people who play Feds primarily would PvP just because it helps out Klingons.
Im planning on doing FvK PvP right away (as soon as I get out of that Miranda), partly because I want to get decent at it, but also because I think its part of what I should be doing to be a good citizen. I know Im going to get blasted into fine dust and a little bit of charcoal a lot, but so what? Im definitely looking forward to PvE, particularly the diplomatic missions, but Im also going to have a Klingon alt at some point, and I dont want to be stuck without anything to do.
Maybe Im unusual. My goal here isnt just to level up and get to the end game as fast as possible. Im just looking for a hobby I can devote a little time to every week. And I guess Im not thinking so much in terms of Feds vs. Klingons, but just players. I know this doesn't help the overall problems much, but hope it helps some.

Last I heard, Stormshade forwarded it to the dev team. No word on if it's an improvement.
Klingon leveling is terribly slow.
I generally wait 20+ minutes to get a PvP match to pop at Lt.Cmdr.
As Lt.Cmdr?
I've waited an hour or so at most. However, during peak, it's still 20 minutes for a match to pop and that's queuing back-to-back.
We now got 2 sides in the game 1 pve side that ignore pvp unless they get something from it and 1 side that pvp cause they want the challenge of human opponents ... but that is dependant on that the ones that dont wanna pvp wihout getting anything for it to get equal level up speed...
